OT - Hubby
Ok a lot of you saw this on FB but I just had to share here :)
Brian took and passed the elementary algebra test for his entrance exam to Northampton Community College. This was a HUGE stressor in BOTH our lives so I am soooo glad that A) he took that step and B) now hopefully has a HUGE boost in confidence that, yes, indeed, he CAN do this kind of stuff and go back to school, and succeed which is something I know he REALLY needed
At one point in the studying he had said things like "You married a loser" and "I'm just gonna go get a job at wawa because that's all I equate to anyway" so I really knew where his "head was" if you will - and those comments and the stress could have EASILY led to a depression spin in him. Buuuut, he didn't...and he did well!
He will have to take one or two math classes - but it's to fulfill the requirment of the AD I believe...it appears to be in everyone's syllabus.
Oh - and now I get to make fun of him (I couldn't do this on FB...lol) because he said to me 'I will have to take math140 for the course. The only reason I would need to take anything higher than that is to get a bachelorette" So of course, I HAD to ask how taking a math class will help him score a single girl who is going to get married. He just looked at me and said "oh shut up..you know...the degree you get after your assosciates degree" (Bacceleureate....but I'm not sure if I spelled that right) lol

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.
I am so glad I hope that this helps him get " unstuck" life is too short to stay stagnant in fear. he has alot to offer and he needs to do this for himself. I will keep my fingers crossed. No one ever thought i would gradute highschool much less go to college. My HS guidance counselor never even entertained that option for me. If I Can do it he can too
Pam,
I'm SO glad to hear that Brian did well on his entrance tests. I know what a stress that can be for students (more so for those returning to school after being away from it for a while) and especially for those with self-confidence issues. It's wonderful that he did well, and that should give him a good boost of "icandoit".
And the bachelorette thing is just too cute.
Please pass my congrats on to him!
Karen
