OT-Strappy shoes and pedicure...

OMG so I am so hooked on strappy shoes now and to make matters worse one of the girls on my team is collecting gently worn shoes for a charity called soles for shoes where they ship these shoes to a third world country where children do not have access to shoes. I actually was helping her bag the shoes and scored 4 pair of shoes that had tags on them. I of course got rid of all my big shoes and all my kids shoes as well but  she said that she does not mind if we wanted to swap shoes as long as we replace them with what we took but seriously this is an addiction. Now my feet I am so overdue for a pedicure so today I have a half day and am going to get my manicure and pedicure and OMG my "new" strappy shoes looks so good on me. Now if only I knew how to download the pics that I took in my shoes...sigh..

Beth,
If you are coming to the next post-op meeting bring them. I am sure my co-worker's charity would appreciate any shoes we can donate.

Many Thanks!!

First off - glad you like your shoes.

Secondly - you mention that the charity is for kids w/o shoes...but you were able to swap them out because they fit you - are they collecting for all sizes of shoes?  I was just thinking of going through all my shoes anyway - and I should be able to make the meeting this month so if they are taking shoes of all sizes, I can probably bring some

Enjoy the pedi!

Pam,
Yes they are accepting all sizes of shoes even flip flops so please bring them with you to the meeting and I will take them. Yeah I felt bad taking shoes they could use but my friend said that is okay as long as we replace them so I am collecting from my temple and of course from good people like you and Beth. Thanks a million in advance.

OH and for all those wondering about my feet, lol....

The kerasal worked decently, but not fabulous.

I also started using the athlete's food cream that was suggested especially on the one foot that was white when dry....and sure enough...it helped

I couldn't find "bag balm" but, in walmart in their pet aisle, I did find "vetinary balm" in a square container that said it was good for chapped dry cracked skin (well, "utters" per the directions, lol)  That seems to have helped as well.

Of course, against ALL the advice I got I went and got one of the pedicure callous shaver thingies...and used it....and thought to myself "hey, it's got a guard on it, I'm suuure I can't cut myself with it"....and uh...yes you can.....and feet BLEED, lemme tell you.  So now I have a healing wound on my foot *sigh*  But at least the rest of it is healing well

Pam
