Hello all!  My husband and I will be coming to your beautiful state next week for Spring Carlise. We've come down for it for years.  This year we will be staying in Carlise.  I will be 8 weeks out from RNY. I don't expect amy issues/problems, but if I should have any, any special hospital in the area that is RNY friendly?  Gonna be a bit of a challege eating healthy and getting all my protien in on the fair grounds but I got a game plan!   Thanks for any and all advice!  Cindy

You won't 'be too far from Hershey Medical Center. I know that some on this forum have had their surgery there and know the names of bariatric surgeons on staff. But let's hope you don't need anything! It's not exactly next door to Carlisle, but not too far away (30 minutes or so) and in case of emergency it's definitely where I'd want to be given your recent surgery.

Pack your own food for the trip - cheese sticks, protein powder in baggies to mix with skim milk, yogurt, etc. You can also do some grocery shopping while in the area (there is a beautiful Wegmans store on Carlisle Pike - I'd go there!)

Enjoy your visit to PA!

Thank you!  We always do, just might a little more of a challenge this year with my recent surgery, but I can't wait!  Really forward to it every year!  Cindy

Have fun :)
Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

I live in Carlisle and would be happy to help if need be. The hospital Pinnacle Health or Harrisburg Community General (same place, different names) is great and 25 minutes away. Contact me and I'll send you my  phone number should you have a problem and I can help. It's a great place for exercise for the weekend if you're in to walking.

Congrats, Good Luck, and Have Fun.

I avoid Carlisle at all costs that time of year! LOL

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
