This little—but super-effective—tip that New York City nutritionist Marissa Lippert, R.D., shares with all her clients could honestly be the easiest-ever diet advice to follow.
Here goes: After you roll out of bed in the morning, make yourself a mug of ho****er with half a squeezed lemon. (Yes, before you fire up the coffeemaker.) What makes lemon water such a good way to start the day? Research shows that lemon juice can promote fat burning. “It also revs up your metabolism for the day and helps with digestion," says Lippert. And the better things are able to move through your system, the better your jeans are going to fit when you go to zip them postshower. Cheers!
I have lemon water - but ice cold - every day. My water post-surg just doesn't taste "right" without something in it. Usually that's lemon, sometimes cucumber or peach or oranges. I wonder if having it hot would make a difference, though...
Hmmm... and if a bunch of lemon juice in decaf hot tea would do the same thing?

Think it would be ok to do so at night time instead? Or at least midway through the day? I ask because of my synthroid I am not allowed to have citrus for a minimum of 1hr (but I wait 2 just in case due to RNY absorption issues)....I've heard of it before....but I haven't paid much attention to it....
