Hi Friends!!!

We just got back from our trip to Disney World late last night. There are just so many WOW moments that I think I would need another page to list them all!! We had a blast and Deanna was sooooo surprised!! We actually kept it from her until we were on the magical express and the driver mentioned that we were in Walt Disney World!!! Her reaction was priceless! Both Steven and I were crying.... She just kept thanking us.

Of course we were treated like royalty, especially Dee! We all got a bit too much of the Florida sun, but nothing horrible. We had beautiful weather all week. It rained yesterday morning for about a half hour and then it was sunny again. One of my biggest WOW's of my trip was getting a family picture taken and actually LIKING IT!!! I am going to pick up a frame for it.

Today is unpacking, laundry, errands, etc. day!! Missed the PA Board and FB. I was beginning to have the shakes from not being on a computer for six days!!

Well, I am gonna go for now. I am exhausted....

Beth,

I'm so glad you guys had such a great time.  I don't know HOW you kept it from Dee that long!  When we surprised my girls (seems like AGES ago), we pretty much had to tell them when we got into the limo to go to the airport (they didn't know they were going anywhere, just that I was going on a biz trip... we had packed for them, arranged for their homework with their teachers, and everything without them knowing).  We woke them up for me to "say goodbye" and told them to get dressed that they were going with us - I will never forget the look on their faces!  And now you have the same memory with Dee!

I truly love Disney as a grown up, but it's 10000% more precious when shared through the eyes of a child.

Welcome back!
Karen

Ok, for those of you who are interested and there are some of you out there, I had MANY WOW moments. One of the first WOW's was when I fit in the airplane seat and was able to buckle my seat belt comfortably. I was also amazed that I fit in every ride we went on and I was not being gaulked at like I was a freak! I blended in well with most folks which was kind of jarring.

We spent two days at Magic Kingdom and walked and walked....
We were at Epcot for a day and walked and walked and walked and walked....
We spent a day at Animal Kingdom and walked and walked....
Then we went to Downtown Disney and walked and walked and walked....
Our last day we went to Hollywood Studios and walked and walked and walked...

I did a WHOLE LOT OF WALKING!!!! The only complaint was that my feet were killing me! I was wearing very supportive and comfy sneakers the whole time, I just think my feet were not used to all the walking. I was not out of breath or sweating or anything else during the whole time!! Although I did make MANY bathroom stops along the way.

I also bought a new bathing suit and was not ashamed to wear it in PUBLIC!!!!

I was so proud of myself for braving the trip and walking as much as I did!

The only dissapointment was that there were not more WLS friendly snack foods. I had this AMAZING SF cheesecake at the 50's Prime Time Cafe in Hollywood Studios and one of the other restaurants had a SF Brownie. In the hotel in the snack area there were very little protein choices, alot of fruit and junk, but not much else. Luckily I packed protein bars and RTD protein shakes so I was ok. FYI for anyone traveling there soon like Lisa Mc.

Overall it was a fun trip although there were times of frustration from waiting in lines, people bumping into and butting in front of you. I guess as I get older I cannot brave the crowds as well as I used to. That is ok, we won't be going back there for a while. I have had my fill of Disney to last me awhile....

When you see me in person ask me about the trip to the airport on Easter Sunday, it is HYSTERICAL!!!!!

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

On my trip to Disney in January, any of the Disney restaurants allowed me to order kids' meals without any issues or questions.  I took Slim Jims and small packs of almonds with me to the parks as snacks.  I also took some of those single packs of Crystal Light that you can add to a bottle of water.

I did go to Guest Services in Jan of this year, and did mention that they did not have very many wls choices, she said she would pass it along.  (guess it didn't help much)
