Tomorrow is my Big day

By early tomorrow evening I should be coming out of recovery.  I am still scared about the whole ordeal of Surgery.  I had my emotional moment last evening and really broke down, but today I feel really good and anxious.  The clear liquids today have left me weak and irritable.  I am glad my wife got home from work because my daughter was starting to get to me.  I have to be at Magee Hospital in Pittsburgh tomorrow at noon.  So I am guessing my surgery will prob by around two.  I have gotten tons of support from facebook friends and family the last two days and it has helped me a lot.   So I guess now all I can do is sip my broth and wait.

Being nervous is totally normal - we've all been there! Keep yourself busy and tomorrow will be here and gone before you know it!

Best of luck tomorrow and check in with us when you can. Remember after surgery to walk as soon as they will let you and sip sip sip your fluids! It really helps with recovery, especially the walking!

Liz

Oh and if you haven't already - take a before pic and your measurements - you'll be glad you did later!

Do as much walking as they will allow post-op.  At Barix they have you up within 4 hrs of surgery and walking a little (very slow) lap around the floor and do so every few hours.  It helps move the gas from surgery out of your system.   You will do great.   Take some (nearly) naked pics tonight and your measurements (head, neck, chest, waist, biceps, hip, thighs, even ankles and wrists).  You will be amazed at the number changes along the journey.  Sometimes when the scale won't move, the inches do and that keeps you sane.
