OT: What's been happening in my life - long
My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen

1 choice @ a time > 1 day @ a time. Slow to Succeed is still Success ;-)
I'm grateful for not being hurt and not hurting anyone else, lucky for me, I tend to hold it together in a tight spot and fall apart afterwards, which is exactly what I did, as once I knew we were ok, I sat there crying over the dead deer. . . as for the hussy, yup that's me a real brave soul behind my six foot high stockade fence (lol), besides the damn thing is less showy than some of the low cut shirts I've always loved to wear ;)
The pup, she is doing great, she is Queen of this castle and races me to bed each night to get prime real estate there and makes sure her petting time is at least 10 minutes long. . . I have a wonderful companion in her, she is very different in personality for my, still very much missed, Dillinger. For instance, I took the hose out to water the plants I replanted and she wanted to chase the hose, Dillinger would have ran right into the house, once I picked up the hose, when I mowed the backyard, she was chasing the mower. . . she is a fun girl for sure and I enjoy spending every free moment I have with her, working in NYC robbed me of a lot of time with dear Dillinger. I'll try and get some new pictures of her soon. . .
Hope to see you soon too!
Hugs, Laureen

I do understand your plight of being a city girl and gardening. Gene is a city boy so when we go out to garden I make sure to warn him of things that are lurking in the bushes and brush. I'm a south jersey girl gardening is in my blood :-)

Thanks for your kind words, I am certainly not ever going to garden in a sportsbra again! lol, long sleeves, gloves, mask, take off my clothes and put them immediately in the washing machine and then shower with cool soapy water, that's what the doctor said is in order when gardening, he said it could even have been dead and caused this, as the oils live up to a year after it is dead. . . amazing. . .
Take care, Laureen

She is an absolute love and she cracks me up daily with one or another of her antics, for instance last week when I went to put the hose on, she wanted to play in it and being I had weed killer in it, I could not let her play in it, so I had to hold her by the collar the entire time, then there is her fetching, she loves to play with the ball or toy and brings it back and then when she has had enough, she runs right up the stairs, ball or toy in mouth and waits for me to let her into the house. . . she doesn't even need toys now that the nicer weather is here, she will chase wasps and butterflies, squirrels and rabbits (lol) and she races me to the bed at night to stake out her prime real estate and she just loves to have her belly or chest rubbed and will fall asleep if you do it long enough, I don't need an alarm clock, as she thinks once 6:30 arrives, it's time for me to give her some lovin. . . she learned within the first 2 weeks of having her, where the treat jar was and everytime she comes in from being outside, she goes right to it and stares up at it and you until you give her one, though I don't give her one everytime because she would be grossly overweight (lol), matter of fact, she has gotten quite thick, as my friend Owen pointed out to me, but not from being overfed, because I only give her 4 cups of dog food per day and limited treats, I think it's because she is fixed and I will be looking into weight management dog food, as I don't want her to suffer from being overweight. She is great with other dogs and I love walking with her and she is my constant shadow when I am at home, if I get up to go potty during the night she gets up and follows me, if I spend too much time on the computer, she comes over and nudges me and I definitely feel like I made the right decision, so while I still miss dear Dillinger, Roxie has become the Queen to his Kingdom. . . the only thing she does that, and not often, is I will find her gnawing on one of my shoes. . . most of the time I remember to put them in the closet, but last week, she got a brand new pair, my roommate came home and found her with it and said Roxie you are going to get in trouble over this one (which even my roommate knew would not be the case), well I scolded her, but within a few minutes I was hugging and loving her up, she can't help being who she is, I just need to be mindful of where I leave my shoes. . .
There you got a whole months worth of antics. . .lol, thanks for asking. I'm in love with my Foxie Roxie

How are you doing? All healed up and moving at the speed of light?
Yes thankfully, I am ok, other than this terrible itching that I am trying to ignore. . .
Foxie Roxie is just a doll, I find myself wistful at times missing the old Dilly dog, but I know I did right by seeking a new companion and she has become the Queen, where Dill was the King and I think she knows it. . . her personality is quite the opposite of Dillinger, she chases the water when I turn on the hose, where Dillinger would run to the house as soon as I picked up the hose, she chases whatever comes across her path, be it squirrel, wasp or butterfly and she loves when I play fetch with her and when she has had enough, she takes the ball (toy) and runs up the stairs to the door. She quickly learned where the treat jar is and goes in the house and sits there looking up at it when she thinks I should give her one, if I gave her one everytime she wants it, she'd be needing WLS. . . lol, which is another thing, I only feed her 4 cups of food a day and she has gotten so thick, but I guess that's what happens to female dogs when they are fixed. . . I might look into a weight management dog food, as I don't want her to have problems later and she gets plenty of activity and no table food and limited treats, though she supplements her diet with grass (lol). . . I love taking her for walks and she is learning to walk with me better, but she definitely misses have companions of the 4-legged variety to play with, if the weather is nice, perhaps this weekend I will find a dog park and see how she does, she does ok around the neighborhood when I walk her, friendly with other dogs.
Anyway, I guess you can tell, I LOVE my girl and am very happy with her, even when she occasionally chews a new pair of shoes, that I forget to put away (lol). . .
Take care, hope to see you soon, I may try to get to Barix on the 21st, it's been way too long without my support group!
Hugs, Laureen
