OT - Speaking of Shilpa's strappy sandals....

OK ladies...I need help and Shilpa's post about her strappy sandals brought it to the forefront of my wandering mind...

My feet.....sheesh.  I can't get them nice and pretty - or at least nice and pretty enough to wear all the strappy shoes I want to!  I started getting pedicures...and have ten million things at home...but still they are dry, cracked and just yucky looking....and when I say dry...I mean...dry enough to be WHITE and cracked unless I have just stepped out of the shower and/or put some cream on them.

Let's be realistic - I am on my feet for almost all of my 12 hour shifts (except when I'm out in triage...) so they get a lot of wear and tear.

I've used just about every foot cream out there in the past years (ones that you can get from grocery stores/cvs anyway).....and I just started using Kerasal or something like that..the only one I haven't used that I found at giant today....and have seen commercials for.  I have a pumice stone at home that I use probably at least every other day.  I keep socks on when I'm walking around inside and am almost NEVER outside without shoes on...so I'm not cutting them up on concrete or anything like that.

Any ideas?  Home remedies?  Producs you love...even if they are specialty ones?

Can't wait to hear these answers.  I have the SAME problem.  My feet are just gross.  I do everything I can to keep them nice, but it doesn't work.  The girl who used to do my pedicures told me plain old vaseline and socks at night.  I always forget to put it on at night, though.

Good (well...not good but...) we can go to the ugly feet beach together!  I'll give the new cream a try for the next two weeks...I've done the vaseline thing before but forgot at times as well...so I'll try it again if needed with more conntinuity (sp?)

I want to join the ugly feet club.  My feet are always dry, I was using Sally Hansen foot cream and it worked OK, but again just like with the Vaseline I would forget to do it every night.  I also have discoloration in 3 of my toe nails, which I have been using stuff on to try to get it to go away.  I am even embarrassed to get pedicures because of it so I do them at home.  I really want pretty feet so I can wear sandals and I dream of the day I can wear flip flops.

What is the discoloration?  You might need a prescription medication for a fungal infection - the OTC ones don't work well if at all.  There are pills and/or creams the docs can give you, preferably a podiatrist

my feet can get very dry like that.. I use a scraper (thats what I call it ) they are at Bath and body and are blue every other day its scraps off all the cracked and yucky parts looks like its snowing at time.. I also do lotion on my feet and wears socks at bed time with the lotion on it..

the foot scraper is the best thing for mine .. they look all nice and smooth..

Is it like the ped egg?  I've used that with no avail.

I've also used this thing like a razor in a holder, specifically for that purpose.  It helped...but I think it exposed TO MUCH new skin and it calloused over very quickly....

The regular lotion isn't helping....

Bag balm in the green tin or real utter crean from the feed store. Sometimes called chap shield.

Hmmm....haven't heard of either of them (I'm a city girl after all, lol)  Is bag balm also sold in the feed store, or is that something I can get somewhere else?

thank you!
