Kind of a WOW moment

So since it was so beautiful out tonight, I took the girls to a park near our house to play tonight.  It's a really nice park, the equipment is fairly new and perfect for kids their size.  So they are climbing up stuff, going down the slides, being little monkeys.  I was up on one of the pieces of equipmen****ching them go down the slide.  Then Hannah said, come on dad, you come down.  I thought, what the hell I'll try it.  Then I looked around and realized that I'm freakin nuts, there are other adults here, they will surely be appalled that a guy my size would even consider going on a slide.  So I said no, just play.  Later they asked again and I again said no.  They asked again and really seemed upset that I wouldn't go down with them.  So I did.  We all sat in a row and we went down the slide together.  Guess what?

Nothing broke.  I fit down the slide.  None of the adults were shocked and appalled that I did it.  No one even paid attention to it that I know of.  We had a lot of fun and did it quite a few more times before we walked home.  Some little boy saw me doing it with the girls and he thought nothing of it.

Wow.  Freakin wow.  It seems small, maybe stupid to some of you, but I never could have done this before.  Wow.  My little girls were so happy to have their daddy go on the slide with them.  What a way to start my long weekend!

Eric, there is absolutely nothing small or stupid about that. It is awesome that you were able to do that and look how happy it made the girls. They have a brand new daddy who can play with them instead of jus****ching them play.

Celebrate your wow!! You deserve it!

Those "small" things only seem "small" to the rest of the world, NOT to us.  Sometimes the biggest wows are NOT being noticed by the general population!

My only question - when you sat on the slide, were feet automatically at the bottom of it?  Us short people have inquiring minds!

CONGRATS!!!!!  That is no where near "sort of" a wow - it's a big oh my god wow!
Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

Small? Nope. This is HUGE!

This is all about how you will interact with your girls and about the kind of dad you are becoming. And that is big stuff, indeed.

Congratulations!

Even all I can say is THAT IS AMAZING!  If it weren'tforthe love of our children and our family - then there wouldbe no reason to endure this ride!  Mazel Tov to you AND to your children!  (PS - that means Congrats!)  on an amazing wow moment!  The "little" things are what make up your children's lives and what they will pass on to others as they grow!  Good for you my friend! :)  (And Happy Anniversary too!)
