not to be funny but I was told by Dr P no gum or hard candy and she wasn't smiling.

 hi,

I was told no gum as well.  If it gets swallowed by accident it can cause a serious blockage.

Yea, I was told no chewing gum either.  Does it stop me 2 1/2 years out?  Nope.  Especially at work, when I get stressed, I find myself popping a piece of gum to help as opposed to eating on graham crackers or saltines.

I also chew gum if I am cooking for long periods of time in the kitchen (getting ready for a party, say) because that way I am less likely to snack on the things I am preparing.
Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

I was told no gum ever not for fear of swallowing it but because it can create air bubbles in my stomach and increase the size of my pouch.
