Ladies - PMS question
You are not the only one! I am usually pretty good at keeping it to myself, but OMG, when it's happening it feels so real! This past month they made my drink wrong at Starbucks, and all I could think was "OMG, they hate me, they don't want me to come to this store anymore, everyone hates me!!!" and I just wanted to go into the corner and cry. All because they gave me 2% instead of nonfat milk!
I know I'm really late on the subject but wanted to let you know you are definately not alone.
And, now that you are feeling a little bit better - let me help you feel a little better....on top of PMS that definatley increased after surgery...my throid issues compounded it BIG BIG time. I had gone 75 days w/o a period (and without being pregnant as I had peed on every possible stick to prove that I was, lol) due to my thyroid being so sluggish and not producing the right amount of hormones. At first (although I was annoyed cause we wanted to start trying to conceive and one can't do that wihout knowing when they are ovulating or IF they are ovulating...) I thought it was great buuuut....
Do you wanna know what 75 days worth of stored hormones, cramping, and just general crap does to you when it is released? It gets you DAMN close to divorce court, that's what. Even work people were like "wow....what is up with you" Not because I was being mean to them, but because I wasn't speaking unless I had to (basically to patients) and when I did, it was one word answers because I felt like I could bust out into tears at any given time...or strangle someone...or cry WHILE I was strangling them, lol
I totally feel for beth and lesley too - have those feelings of imagining the world hates me. Like that month - when I would get a patient - I swore I was the ONLY nurse doing ANYTHING in the department....lol
Hang in there, glad you are feeling better by now!

Hi everyone,
I am pretty new to the boards, although I have been lurking for a while I just got my surgery date, April 22nd (yeah), and am very excited to get started on this WL journey.
What you guys talk about is actually one of my biggest fears of all in getting WLS. I am not even as worried about the pain after the surgery too much. I am worried about its effect on my periods/cramping/PMS, etc. I am 44 and have very regular to the day periods. I do, however, get some pretty serious cramps and a good dose of PMS. Reading a lot on the boards is making me worry that both will be worse. I know we can't take Aleve and that is my magic medicine for cramps...for the past few periods I have been using Tylenol to try it out. Notsomuch
help....I am really concerned about how they may be worse after surgery. I read a lot about hormones trapped in fat, etc. But this is really the one thing that actually made me think twice about having this surgery...at this point I just hope for a an early menopause!!
