FML---- adolescent's issues

Wow Lisa!!

You did say you had a lot of stuff going on with Siehara!! This is a mothers' worst nightmare, but THANK G-D you caught it early and got the police involved. There is plenty of support and info out there for you and Siehara to learn about this issue. As an educator and a parent, I feel your pain and anxiety over this. I am always paranoid about Deanna when we are out and about. Whether at the playground or the mall, I hold on to her for dear life! She is always saying to me, "Mommy, you are holding my hand too hard!" I tell her that is MY JOB!! Your job is to make sure that Siehara is healthy, happy, and most important SAFE! Reassure her that you love her and that you would be devastated if anything would happen to her. She needs to hear how YOU feel about this situation if you haven't told her already. My philosophy on electronics are no cell phone until she can pay for it, no computer in her room so we can monitor, and no surfing while we are not in the room. Dad is a computer geek so he will block EVERYTHING and then some!

My thoughts are with you, I am so glad you contacted the police....don't give up! These men need to be stopped, it would help her to understand if it is an old perv, ugly and evil to un derstand its not her fault it is his! He is the adult. I am just assuming its an adult.

I've got an old crate that we used for our dog.  Ryleigh and Hannah are getting locked in it.  Sorry to hear about all this and good luck.  Sounds like quite a road ahead of you.  I think you definitely did the right thing by calling the police too.  Everyone else has summed up my thoughts with their comments, so I'll just say that we are here for you....

I just got online and was shocked.  I hope the police can straighten this all out for you.  My son is 11 and wants a cell so bad.  I think I will continue to stall on the subject.  I hope you & Sieharra are doing better.  Email or call if you need to, I am here for you.

do you want me to ask Jeremy about how to make the home puter safe... aka so she can't cheat and get to sites and such that she shouldn't be getting to etc...

Jeremy and I have already decided that if Lore gets a cell phone she will have one that can only call us, grandparents, etc... no other phone calls or texts allowed... we also won't let her have a tv in her room or a puter either... all that is in her room now is her bed, books, and stuffed animals... she is already too smart for her own good at almost 4... sooo not looking forward to when she hits 11+...

The computer is in my bedroom and she only gets on it when I am in the same room.  It would be helpful, though, Shannon, if we could put something else on it. I have some protection on it and the site she was on is a kid's site.  BUT, it seems that they weren't able to text on there like they wanted so she gave him her phone #.  Hopefully we can find out who this is and end it and if it is a predator, punish him.  If it's a kid, hopefully it can be ended and he is also taught a lesson..

She has been without any kind of electronics all day today and she survived.. no tv, no phone, no computer..maybe I'll sign her up for Gilligan's Island.  She survived a whole day, she can survive longer.
