I am making a dry rub, and the recipe calls for brown sugar....

What can I use instead?

Thanks!

Diabetisweet brown sugar or brown sugar maltitol crystals both work nicely.

I use the diabetisweet brown sugar when I make my homemade BBQ sauce and you can not tell the difference.

I am "anti" diabeti sweet person, lol    But in SOME things even I admit I can't taste it...and I'm gonna bet a dry rub would be one of them.

But, if I had brown malitol crystals on hand, I would use them.

Diabeti sweet can be found in *some* regular grocery stores, so if you didn't have either on hand....that would be a possible option to find in a pinch

The other brand of maltitol crystals available online is Sensato, also from netrition.com.  Sensato also makes some other excellent products.  Their sugar-free chocolate chips, in particular, are favorites of mine.  They're mini-chips and true semi-sweet, and I like them better than Hershey's SF chips.
