Karen,

I am happy that everything worked out well for you with the appendicitis.  You are such a giving person and people are just paying it forward.  As many have said previously, you are a positive presence on this web site and at all the Barix meetings.  It is no surprise that you had so many prayers and well wishes coming your way.  Don't worry about the water weight gain - as fast as it went on that's how fast it will come off.  Take good care of yourself.

Love, Donna

Karen, so glad to see you posting and I am not surprised that you took this opportunity to educate us all on the trials of the appendix.  I'm glad you did.  I've never had appendicitis and probably would have no clue what to expect.  From what you are saying, it doesn't matter if you know or not because as all things go, nothing is always the same.

Once you are back on your feet, that weight is going to come off.  You know it's only water weight.  Give it a week or so, and it will be gone!

Healing thoughts to you.. sounds like you are going to be just fine!!

Hi Karen - so good to see you posting.  And thanks for posting your experience in detail...I know I already have "gas pain that didn't move" stuck in my brain for future reference.
Take care,
Lisa

He was delirious...he only had a siesta after a night shift and then needed to attempt to be a "daywalker" again.  Don't worry, he'll be back to himself tomorrow, I'm sure

he was really delirious because he didn't even get the siesta.. fire in Slatington where he played with hoses and put out a fire!

Then, I took advantage of his kindness and had him pick up the cocopops at Wegman's.. good thing I know EXACTLY where they are since he had no clue WHAT they were.  I sent him a pic and everything.. LOL!

As I said to Shauna during some of this "It's a hospital - I can DO hospitals" lol  Seriously - as sad as this sounds...I feel most at "home" in the hospital setting.

And besides...YOU are an amazing presence on this board, a wealth of information (gory or non gory) and there for anyone and everyone at any time!

Glad you are home and feeling better - oh - make sure you take enough colace or even consider taking peri colace while you are on pain meds - even if you stop them - you had some potent ones (dilaudid for example which is literally 10x stronger than morphine) and that can cause some nasty constipation on top of differences in your diet etc.

The extra weight - just the darn fluids.  Same thing happened to me when I was in for my obstruction in 2008.  It'll come off (but goodness gracious is it annoying!)
