Hello all.. I am going out to Olive Garden Sunday night for dinner.  Besides the no sugar added cake, what do you guys recommend that I order?

I don't do ANY pasta so if a platter comes with pasta, I will sub with veggies.

I bet their menu is posted on their website - they probably have a salmon dish - do you like salmon? I've only eaten there once since surgery but can't remember what I had! The soup and salad combo might be good depending on how hungry you are. Would stay away from their breadsticks - they're pretty doughy and tough on the pouch.

Have fun!

I did find their menu online, thanks.  They do have a salmon dish so that is probably what I'll end up with.  I was wondering what others have had.

No need to worry about the breadsticks.  I'm still terrified of bread!

I just looked at the menu online and there are several meat (chicken pork and beef) as well as seafood and veggie options. I know they also do "soup and salad" combos.

How easy would it be to ask for something with only a rub instead of a sauce? Does anyone know if there are options that are just rubs?

I bet they would do a sauteed or grilled version of any of their seafood or meats for you - if not then just ask them to hold the sauce - sauces tend to scare me because so many are sugar-based - don't want any dumping at the dinner table. Most restaurants, even chains, are really good about special orders now because so many people have dietary restrictions. Speak up, honey - tell 'em what you want!

You can always ask for the sauce on the side.

I recall finding decent stuff on the appetizer menu

I usually order the children's grilled chicken and broccoli.  It comes with soup or salad.  I get the soup and have that for my meal, and take the chicken and broccoli home with me.  I haven't tried their NSA cake yet.  The one time I was going to order it, they didn't have it.
