Thanks everyone for your kind words

Thank you ALL for your kind words, hugs, thoughts and prayers.  You are all right with saying I would be too busy to think about food and I have to say something sweet about my husband.  I said before that I needed him to be stronger with support since I had my surgery and that I needed him to tell me he sees the change and give me encouragement when I needed it.  He has a hard time with stuff like that but HE totally stepped up and I told him that all of you said to prepare good stuff that I could just grab (like vegs, fruit etc) well wouldnt you know it he took that task on all by himself.  I so needed that from him :)

The death of my dad is a very painful thing but what makes it so hard is he goes to Florida in Oct through the last week of March every year to enjoy the nice weather and get away from the cold here.  This year he didnt leave till he knew I was out of surgery and home safe..so he left 4 days after my surgery and he was to return at the end of March.  So he never got to see my progress but he was my biggest fan of my new journey.  I couldnt wait and I knew he couldnt wait to see the "new" me but I know he's my Angel and he is up there in Heaven watching me with the biggest smile ever and so proud of what he is seeing.

You may not have been physically with your father long enough for him to see the "new you" but trust me...he sees you. He sees the progress you are making and since he was your biggest supporter in life he is your biggest supporter on the other side as well. He is walking you through this journey. He has his arms around you when you need that extra hug too.

Time will pass and you will be able to think of your dad with smiles instead of sorrow. I am sorry that you feel his loss so deeply. That is because you truely loved each other.

And congradulations on your husband stepping up to the plate and helping out the way he has been. It is great when they surprise you like that isn't it? When it is all over maybe he deserves a little pampering and a night out with his wife. Just a thought.
