1 week out and feeling great!
So I had surgery on March 2nd. I feel great. I can't sleep in bed, but that seems to be my only problem so far besides where my jp drain was.. I am tolerating protein shakes, and just feel overall good. I am so glad I got this surgery and so thankful that so far I am doing well. I have a friend that had the surgery different doctor and she doesn't seem to be doing as well. and she had hers two days after me. So while I am so thankful about mine, I hope she starts feeling better soon!

Congratulations on your surgery and for feeling so well - that's wonderful!! It took me a week or two before I could sleep in bed and I didn't have any drains, so it does take a while. Be patient with it and hopefully you have something comfortable to sleep on in the meantime.
Its an incredible journey - filled with lots of ups and sometimes downs, but come out here any time you have questions, concerns and especially to share your WOW moments because you'll have many of those along the way.
Welcome to the Loser's Bench and the PA Boards!!

That's great news!! I wasn't able to lay flat in bed for a few weeks either. I only had drains in while in the hopsital but was sore when I came home. I found that it helped if I took the pain meds right before going to bed. Also the first few nights I spent propped up in bed instead of trying to lay flat. When you go to get out roll onto your side then push yourself up. I had to have my hubby rescue me a few times! lol
Hold on for a wild ride!

Glad you are feeling great!!
I was able to sleep in my bed, too, but getting out was a challenge, lol! I too took pain meds right before bed and it helped quite a bit!
Can't wait to follow your crazy journey with you!

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses. ![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/thumbsup2.gif)
