My surgery is Mon. Need some info...!!!
Old Forge. I've had many good times there in my twenties, when I used to go out all the time with my nursing school friends. ....Oh ya...we had fun!
We'll have to get together sometime and talk about our surgeries and stuff...
Glad you're well. It's nice to have someone local to share with.
Thanks, Susie

Good luck and best wishes on Monday! We'll be happy to welcome you to the loser's bench!
As Liz said, don't stock up on anything - your tastes will change (and keep changing) for a bit of time after your surgery (for weeks or months). Netrition.com offers sample packs and that's one good way to try things.
I really like the Matrix proteins, especially the chocolate. It's made by Syntrax. The Nectar proteins are also very good - especially the cherry flavor.
Have fun this weekend and get ready for the start of your new life!
Enjoy,
Karen

Back int he ancient times of my surgery, we didn't so protein shakes or powders in the beginning. We did complete liquids for 2 weeks. So I did Sugar free Carnation instant breakfast with soy milk.
till this day, 5 and a half years out, I still don't have a protein powder I LOVE. I typically use Unjury because it mixes well and they have unflavored which really is. But try to get get as many samples sizes as you can as your tastes change alot in the beginning.
Good Luck

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
Well,.. for the last seven days I have been doing the carnation with skim milk,...and tomorrow I do clear liquids. (Sooo hungry..!)
I know that I have to do clear liq for the first week at home,..
I would like the unflavored protien because then I can add it to a lot of diff things...
Thanks for your advice, Susie
I'm very excited..!

Congratulations! My surgery date was supposed to be March 8th but my surgeon is going to be in Japan so they changed it to March 17th I'm excited but nervous but everything will work out. I just wanted you to know that you are in my prayers and this is our journey to a better life. I purchased protein powder from Walmart in vanilla and chocolate and it was really inexpensive. I believe it was called Mega something! Get someone to give us an update on Monday.
Just wanted to wish you luck - you've gotten a lot of good advice thus far!
Definately get the chicken/beef stock/broth. Stock will have more flavor than broth.
The SF ice pops are a must
Be prepared to experiment with flavors and sample packets

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses. ![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/thumbsup2.gif)
