Hey OH friends,..
My surgery is scheduled for Mon. March 8th at 7:30 am.!!!
I'm sooo excited... and scared.

One question that I have is ...What kind of protien powder should I buy?? I went shopping yesterday and was totally ovewhelmed by the mega choices. Please tell me what brand you feel is best and why..?

Congrats!!

First of all - don't buy big in ANYTHING just yet! Get as many sample packs as you can get your hands on. Your tastes are going to change drastically post-op. The chocolate MAX protein is really the only one that I like - it's only availbable at certain GNC stores.

Things to have on hand that will definately be safe:
chicken and beef broth (I made my own, you can get the paper containers), sugar free jello, sugar free pudding, CHAP STICK (my lips felt like sandpaper for weeks), and crystal light packets. You will be amazed at how little you actually consume. One of those little pudding cups might be 2 meals! lol

Good luck!

Sure thing! Better to be there early like that and get it out of the way! I didn't have to be at the hospital until 11am and I was hungry, cranky and had a migraine! You are going to do great! Surgery is a scary thing but you have made the best decision for you, and remember that you made it while your head was "clear" and did tons of research to come to this decision.

DO you have someone that can post on monday and let us know that youa re out of surgery and doing well?? If not please don't hesitate to call or text me - my cell is 610-462-1204. I'll actually be home all day monday - I'm off - YAY!

I'll wave on my way past - headed up 81 to see my Grandparents tomorrow and home on sunday - I drive right past Clarks Summit :) They live off of the Lenox exit in Susquehanna.

Yes, I'm glad to have it done early in the am...!
I def have made the right decision to have the surg and get my healthy life back ..for both my family and myself.

I don't have anyone to post for me on Mon. (My husb will be with me.)
I will call you /or my husb.  I put your # in my phone. Thank you. That's great..!!

I know where Lenox is.., small world right?

I hope you're feeling well. I bet you can't wait for your baby...It's sooo exciting. Take care and thank you again, Susie

I like the MAX Protein the best for sure. If you can't get it at a GNC store near you (like Liz said only certain ones carry it) then you can order it off of the internet. I wish you well with your surgery. We all were scared sh*tless. But, honestly it"s not half as bad as you are imagining. You will love the results you get. I promise you it will be well worth it when you can wake up each morning and not feel trapped in your own body.

Good luck & well wishes,
Kathy

Thanks for the inspiring words Kathy..
I hope I do well like all of you ..
The only thing I'm afraid of is not waking up after surg. ( after all of the horror stories I hear and getting all of the risks from the Dr.)

I know that I've made the right decision,..and I know you are right about waking up and feeling good,...not trapped in that body..

Thank you,Susie

We used to go to the Lift Inn in Lenox to see bands ...ohhhh I miss beer lol. Susie You know we are neighbors if you need anything don't hesitate to ask. I wish you the best of luck. Don't forget pillows for the ride home back down 81. I had an hour drive home and the pillows were a lifesaver!
Make sure you tell the Dr when he releasing you that you have a 2 hour drive so he will make sure you have pain meds right b4 you leave, don't settle for Toradal (sp?)for ride home! Lol
The good news is the ride home helped to move around some of that gas that I had trouble motivating myself to walk off.
Almost 3 weeks out and not a regret in the world!

I will be saying prayers for safe surgery and speedy recovery>>>>waiting here for you on losers bench.
