Thank you Liz and everyone.
Well Mr Marshall is home and doing OK.. Not much better but we at least have some good and bad news.. Good news Marshall does not have pyloric stenosis.. All his food passes thru the pylorus with out a problem!! I was happy but almost upset because we still don't have a total answer.
They do believe some of the vomiting is from the drainage but with the weight loss and some other tests they do feel is has reflux. The ER docs at Arnold Palmer and wonderful .. I think it was the first time i ever left an ER feeling like everyone did their job. We have an appt with a GI doc thru Arnold Palmer and we are going to change our peds doc for the kids. Our ped yesterday wanted us to give Marshall antibiotic's for his RSV.. Well I know RSV is viral and it didn't seem right.
So Im hoping we get some answers soon and my little guy is back to his normal little self.
Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers WE APPRECIATE IT!!!!

Sounds like you guys are on the right track to getting Marshall better. Having faith and confidence in a doc means the world, especially with your own children.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
While RSV IS viral - becuase the babies are usually so young - as Marshall is - Antibiotics are the course of action. I certainly would wait to hear what Pam has to say - but I remember when Molly had RSV as a nine day old, they had her on all kinds of anti-biotics at a VERY well-rspected hospital. I wihs you luck with finding what is wrong with him and glad that he is home!
I'm pretty torn on this for a few reasons.
You are a hundred percet right regarding "proactive" antibiotics in viral illnesses. Because the viral syndrome leaves small children open to other infections that their body can't fight off because they are already run down, the antibiotics can prevent further infection.
HOWEVER, I am a FIRM believer in holding off on antibiotics even for things like ear infections. I think that we have become a society so "anti bug" that we are causing our own destruction. Things like CDIFF, MRSA, VRE...they didn't exist years and years ago. But because we have been soooo forceful with antibiotics....the bugs have basically mutated and now become something we can't fight, or at least can't fight very well. Take that along with all the "antibacterial" crap we use in every day life....no wonder the bugs are winning.

Tanya,
So glad to hear that he doesn't have to have surgery and that he's feeling a bit better. It just sucks so badly when little ones are ill. Take care of yourself, too, in all the turmoil - don't forget that self-care is really important so that you stay strong and healthy.
Hugs to you both!

Glad to hear things are going ok slowly!
Just as an FYI...almost every baby has GERD, although some are worse than others. And with the extra secretions and his tiny little airway..I'd be leaning towards just a bad combination at the moment.
Continued healing!
