Am I eating enough?

Ok so I am 3 months out, no real problems, I am just not sure I am eating enough?  Here is a typical day for me, I am a creature of habit, so once I find something that stays down I stick with it.  Ok once you write it down it really looks like a lot of food.

B: 4oz Dannon Carb/Sugar Smart, with 4oz 2% CarbSmart milk, or 40z Chike Protein Shake (7;30am)
S: 4 pieces of Colby Jack cheese, and 4 saltine crackers or 5-6 almonds, or a piece of string cheese (10am)
L: 1/2 of a Chicken Pattie or 1/2 of a hard shell Taco or 4oz Tuna Salad (12ish)
S: 4 pieces of Colby Jack cheese, and 4 saltine crackers or 5-6 almonds, or a piece of string cheese (2ish)
D: oh..... a small portion of what I make the family.  Some Vegi's (6ish)
S: 2-3 pieces of Watermelon, I am addicted!! (8pm)

What do you think, does this "look" ok, for me.  I am doing great in the weight loss currently at 71lbs.

Are you getting in all of your protein and fluids for the day?

Watch the saltines and the hard shell taco shells - empty carbs, really at 3 months out you shouldn't be eating them. STick with the protein first, veggies next and carbs/fruit last.

OTher then that it looks good!

Liz

PS - congrats on the amazing weight loss!

Fluid: I get pretty close, I never can get 64oz. I can get about 58 in water, Crystal Light, SF Apple Cider.  I do much better at night, when I am home.

Protein: I am trying, but I dont make the 60.  Here is what I fugured via the internet.

B:9 protein
S:8 protein
L: 10-13 proteins
S: 8 proteins
D: 13-15 proteins
S: 0 :(

right around 50

Thanks, I feel AWESOME!!

P.S. I had a cracker in my mouth and spit in in the trash :)

OK here's what I would try - eggs for breakfast maybe? Have you tried greek yogurt? It was 17 (+/-) grams of protein per 7oz! Great bang for your buck. Get the plain and flavor it with your own things - sugar free jam, fresh fruit, pudding powder etc - be creative! Try things like chili (made with ground beef, turkey or chicken) another great protein punch. Ricotta cheese or cottage cheese are great for protein too. Maybe add a shake for an after dinner snack and that'll help with your proteins and fluids!

At this point out you should really be pushing for your proteins and fluds. Don't take up the room in your pouch with the carbs (besides it gets you into bad habits that are hard to shake later! - I am sooo there!). AS for getting in more fluids always have a water bottle in your hand. Set goals - I have to drink 1-24oz bottle by 10am, another by 1pm, another by 4pm and the last by bedtime etc. I found early out that drinking during my commute was a HUGE help - an hour each way in the car, I wasn't eating so drinking water helped!

Hope all this helps! I know it is hard to get in a groove early out.

Oh and if you do have watermelon at night - try having some greek yogurt, cottage cheese or ricotta with it - that'll add protein!

Liz, Thank you so much!!  I will se****er goals for myself that would really help.

I like Greek Yogurt, However I made myself sick on it and now I have a hard time getting in back down again, it seems for me if it comes up once that is all it takes.

I will try it again.  I love Chili that is a great idea, thanks!!

Ok, I am making a promise NO CARBS!!

Try mixing the greek yogurt into a smoothie/protein shake too - that'll really give you a protein punch!

You can do it! :)

An 8 oz protein shake in the morning would be a great way to increase your protein intake.  The Chike is OK, but use n/f milk with it instead of water to add to the total protein.  The Chike is supposed to have 28 grams of protein--why are you only getting 9 grams?

At 3 months out, you can increase your total intake a little bit without causing problems.  I agree about leaving out the crackers.  The almonds are a good choice.

Keep a 20-oz water bottle with you and sipsipsip.  You should have NO problems getting in your water!

Good luck!

Lynn,

I wish I could do 8oz, but I can only force down maybe 4oz.

I calculated it at the Yogurt amount, if I do the Chike in the morning I can do half a serving so 4 oz  ff milk 4 proteins, 1 scoop of Chike 14, 18 grams for breakfast.

I will just force myself to sip, sip , sip all day I thought I was doing pretty good, but that is not good enough.

Thanks for the reply!!
