Forum Newbie

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone.  I should add that my husband has just started on the same program/journey as me, with the same surgeon.  He has been heavy pretty much all his life, but I was not very heavy until my early twenties when I started gaining steadily.  It's great to have him with me going through such similar experiences.  We can definitely encourage each other along the way.  He has had some concerns ever since I first started talking about surgery years ago but when we moved from Houston to Pittsburgh, our new internist asked me if I had ever considered having surgery and stated that I would be a good candidate.  He then told us that he, himself, had the surgery and he gave me the name of his surgeon.  I felt like it was a sign, because I had been thinking about it for so long.

Fast forward to the present and I feel like my surgery date is rushing toward me and I've not prepared myself with the knowledge I need, but do you ever feel completely ready?
