Thanks Liz for updating.

Thanks for checking in, Lisa

I didn't get online right away - I was a raging lunatic by the time I got home, poor liz can attest to that.  When I got home it appeared brian hadn't shoveled a damn thing in the past 36 hours and I had absolutely no place to put my car, so after I spent 36 hours away from home, and then an 1+ commute home DUE to the snow...I had to spend an hour+ just getting to the point where I could get my car half in the driveway.

I cam into the house screaming "thanks for doing F-ing nothing while I was working"....there was literally snow up to my WAIST at the door so when I finally finished shoveling a spot for myself and trudging through the snow, I had about 1 1/2 feet of snow fall into the house with me as I opened the door.  I was in NO mood to attempt to come online as I had absolutely nothing positive to say about anything.

PS:  Brian DID shovel - up to and including at midnight.  Unfortunately what he didn't know was that's when the wind gusts got bad.  Seriously - my neighbors have about 6 inches on their grass and I have two feet on mine due to the way the wind blew and just luck of the draw of where we live.

I DID slide off of 78 at one point - not my fault.  There was a car ahead of me and a tractor trailer in the lane next to that car. The tractor trailer decided "crap this is my exit" and proceeded to cut off the car in front of me...he needed to slow down quickly as did I, and the altima did not like it.

I had only been going at about 25mph at the time, so literally, it was a very slooooow slide to the shoulder and I was able to control it so as not to get into the deeper snow on the side of the road (thank you ambulance driving) and got back onto the highway without to many issues (it took me a few tries and a little more slipping on the shoulder and what not...but I got it)

I cancelled my gym appointment - it was 11am before I finally helped finish shoveling, got something in me to eat - and then lay down for a nap.  The appointment was at 3 which meant I would have gotten about 1 1/2 hours of sleep before I had to get up shower and get to the gym  Not a great way to start out a fitness assessment test.

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

so sorry you had such a rough trip home and then time at home.  The wind was crazy.  We hardly have anything here anymore because the wind seems to have blown it away.  I saw the pic you posted showing your window.  That's just plain crazy.  This was the strangest storm.

Glad you did ok with the driving.. training paid off.  Can't have anything happening to our Pam.

Don't blame you for cancelling the gym appt.  You'll get there when you can.

Good Morning All -

I'm back to roll call...finally.  I have been home from work the majority of this week.  Mostly to make sure that my post-heart attack boyfriend does what he is supposed to do.  Making sure that he takes his new medicines on time and making sure that he doesn't overly exert himself, etc..

I'm really fortunate to have a very understanding boss.  He was fine with me taking the time that I needed.  So, I'll spend today and the weekend caring for my patient : )

Hope everyone has safe travels today.

Lisa

Morning everyone...

I am at work this morning.  Got here a little late, but made it in.  Hoping anyone with a cardiac condition doesn't try to shovel until after 4pm.  Anyhow...  travel wasn't too bad, the alley behind our house was the worst.  Drifts higher than the bumper but with 4WD I managed to get through.  I got up at 4am, shoveled the sidewalks, shoveled some of the drifts down in the alley and made a delightful protein shake this morning.  The really incredible part of the protein shake is that this is the first shake I ever made that I really enjoyed.  Cherry Vanilla, got the recipe from Eggface's site.  I bought a cool little blender thing last night and this was the maiden voyage.  I'm trying to get myself back on track and hoping to get over this little stall I've had.  So anyhow, when I went to leave, everything I shoveled was covered again, plus the drifts were just bigger and I think possibly angrier.

But I'm here for the rest of the day.  Hope everyone can stay put today and enjoy some time building snowmen, making snow angels, doing whatever.

Good Morning all!

Today I am feeling much better. Most of the pain I am feeling now is severe bruising. I am still walking slow, but getting there.

Today has me doing the same as the rest of the week. Nothing. the boys and riley will be at thier dad's this weekend, so Johnny & Jantzen said they would like to take me out on a dinner date. So if I feel up for it tonight, we will go, if not we will wait until tomorrow or sunday.

I can finally take a REAL shower today. Not just a sponge bath, so that is super exciting to me. I will wait for Johnny to get home though, just in case I have trouble managing it alone.

My life is so freaking exciting...............I know you can hardly keep up with this schedule of mine!

be safe everyone. apparently everyone else is getting it all and we are only expecting 6 inches max.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
