Snow Schmo Thursday Roll Call

Well, it looks like it started at about 2:15, as when I went out for my break, the roads/sidewalks/cars were COMPLETELY dry...but the flakes were literally just starting to fall.

Today's agenda....first I'm gonna go to my car, grab all my gear, and attempt to find where I am sleeping.  I thought they had a good system in place...I was told I would get a "room assignment" yesterday when I talked to my manager (I thought they meant a patient room that was going to be blocked off).  However, when I got to work tonight, I was told to go to "conference room 10" where there will be cots set up etc.

Once I put all my crap that isn't valuable there...I'm gonna go stair climbing at work and do a little bit of a work out that way.

I'll eat something at the cafeteria (my own food, but in the cafeteria setting) and then go back to "my room" and have a slumber party with all the friends whose names I don't know, lol!!!

Getting up and doing whatever around here....making good use of my iphone...venture outside to see the not so pretty white stuff....I dunno.  What else does one do while in a hospital that they don't know any of the sick people personally?  lol

And then back to the ER tonight 7-7 and HOME in the morning!

Good Morning Pam,
You are being a good sport about your mandated stay.  I could not handle it.

Today has me first deciding if I could make a meeting this morning before the worst of the storm hits.  Then, to tidy a bit and work on grades.  Then, to tackle the bedroom, which I began over the weekend and did not finish.

Have a blessed day.

Hugs,
Trish

OK....COMPLETE CHANGE IN PLANS!!!!!

Due to some very very very AWESOMELY dear friends who happen to live 1.9 miles away from the hospital in Emmaus I get to leave the hospital this am, and go to a house...with a bed...and even a kitty cat!

Norm and Mary have just made my day sooooo much brighter...well...theoretically...darker cause I won't have hospital lights and bells and announcements...but either way, I'm estatic.

Hopefully I'll get to see them before they leave for work...and/or when they get home from work.

Love you guys!  You rock!

Pam

Yeah Pam! Our home is a nurse hotel during bad weather too. Johnny's neice and various hospital staff will crash here when there is bad weather. Johnny even delivers and picks them up after shifts. No one wants to spend ttime in a hospital unless they are getting paid or a patient.

So that was so sweet of them!

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

Good morning Pam and PA- that was nice of Norm and Mary.  I always said blessings come in different shapes.  Its 5:45 am and I haven't seen any of that white crap yet so if I go outside and do the "go away dance" do I have a chance?  I hope it passes us I have physical therapy today and am hoping not to have to cancel it.  Today has me doing stuff I didn't get to yesterday due to me going food shopping before getting hit by the yucky white crap.  I figured I can clean today instead and make sure we have everything we needed.  I was still waiting for the last snow to melt it seems like its here we go again. Ugh!  Pam stay warm and dry and comfortable. Everybody be careful and have a great day. I am watching the news today and see alot of schools closing but yet to receive a e-mail from Heather's school maybe its too early for them to send it?  If she is home today she can do stuff with me around the house if not I can always make her help me make a snowlady?

It's great to have friends like that!  Today is a day at Career Link.  I will take my five pound book and knitting.  I don't think a lot of folks will venture out  today.

Good morning, PA!!!

Pam---that's awesome that Norm and Mary 'rescued' you!!

We have nothing planned for today.  Hang out and watch it snow, I guess.  Sometime this morning, I'll get on the treadmill.  I've been stalled for a few weeks now, so maybe I'll shake up my excercise routine and do some time on the bike as well.  I don't like the bike, but I'll do it if it gets the scale moving again.

Have a great day, everyone!!!  Stay safe!!!

Good morning Pam and the rest of the snowy PA gang...

Glad to hear that you got rescued from your luxury accomodations at the Hotel LVH.  I am at work since about 6am and am here until 4pm unless things get really lousy and we go to our winter weather emergency mode.  Even if we do get out of here, I'll be on-call throughout the duration of the storm likely for my part of the County.  I am scheduled to work 6a-4p tomorrow too.  This snow should have come when I had days off.  Throw in some snowblowing and it will be a regular party!

Hope everyone has a great day...

Good morning Pam and all of PA - I am up early becuase it seems that my dog did NOT get the no school email that we all got...oh well....We found out last night that we are losing thefirst two days of Spring Break and have to go toschool two days longer in June.  Whatever...so NOT a big deal.  We have no control over Mother Nature and how she works so I for one am going to enjoy my time with the kids, (Read - ignoring the kids and playing on the comptuer.)  I do understand people's frustration with this winter, however, it won't happen again for a long time, so enjoy being part of history.

So - today I AM going to get some grading done....REALLY I AM!!!!!!  I did NOTHING the last snowcation and I am quite behind.  I would like to organize my desk area and maybe play some games with the kids.  I will try to get outside before the wind really kicks up.  That is what is making me nervous about this storm.

Have a nice Thursday all!

I'm here I'm here.. what a lovely morning already and it's only 7:00.

Pam, glad Mary and Norm live so close that you can go there to sleep.  Definitely better than a slumber party in a conference room.

School is closed, but I'm working.  Siehara has a science project to do that was due 2 weeks ago and she has to clean her room today.  Oh, it's going to be a joy being home together.  She has already started on the project.  BUT, she has also already "started" on the project.  She wants me to help her do simple things like cutting out the planets for the solar system.  UM NO.. you can cut a circle, you are 11 years old.  Plus you completely blew off the project the 1st time around, so now mom gets tougher.

I'm trying to keep my cool today and get work done.  I have a call with my boss to talk about some of the stuff on my desk.  We have been doing this weekly, basically just as a sanity check.

After work, I guess I'll trek outside to see my car is.  I'm supposed to have an appointment with my therapist tonight, but I'm sure she'll cancel it.  If not, I'll see how it is before I decide if I will be going.  Siehara is also supposed to have dance tonight, but depends on snow as well.

So, either we'll be trekking out for dance and appts (unlikely), or I'll be just making dinner and finding some DVR workout to do tonight.
