Hi everyone -

I'm finally home after another long day at the hospital with my boyfriend Brad.  Many thanks to Julia for posting an update on his condition.

According to the surgeon that placed the stent, my boyfriend is extremely lucky that the stent was placed when it was.  This situation could have been much worse. The surgeon said that someone his age (44) should not have such terrible looking arteries.  In addition the the artery that was almost completely blocked, there are several other that are semi-blocked.  The surgeon will be having a long talk or a "lecture" as he called it with us tomorrow.  We have a lot of work to do to get him healthy.

Thanks for all the well wishes.

Lisa

I haven't been on today except for now and very very early this morning so I'm glad to hear the update from you - and will go back and look at the other updates.

Hopefully, this "scare" is enough to get him to be a bit healthier!

Prayers to all of you!

Thanks Pam.  I think that he is scared and I think he understands how lucky he is.
We are very fortunate that he didn't end up having open heart surgery right there on the spot.

SOunds like you are going to have a partner in crime for your healthier lifestyle! I see more fruits and veggies in Brad's future!

I am so glad that he is doing OK and getting the care that he needs. I agree with Pam, I hope that this is the "scare" that he needs to get himself healthier. I am sure that he'll meet with a dietician that will give you both a pretty good idea of what he needs to do.

Good luck tomorrow and don't forget your notepad and pen! I am sure you are going to have information over load.

Liz -

Thanks for the reminder about the note pad.  I had forgotten about that suggestion.

Hi Lisa,

It's good to hear you sounding calmer tonight.     And yep, there will be changes ahead for Brad.  Looks like maybe you now have a gym partner!     How long will they be keeping him in the hospital?
