speaking of TMI
As a recent queen of constipation....
The sunsweet ones prunes Liz mentioned are AWESOME. Just think of them as dried plumbs....prunes to me anyway, has a negative connotation. Dried apprictos sound yummy, so why doesn't dried plumbs?
However...when I was slacking on my veggies and fruit (when I got horrendous pain from what I am contributing to constipation) I had to step it up a notch and I now take miralax. When I was real bad I took it every day. Now I take it probably 2 x a week.
Regular colace never did ANYTHING to help me. However, PERI colace did wonders, except I was crampy when I had to go and when I had to go, watch out, I had to go NOW
Be careful with the "there's just less of it" type feeling. That's how I started before I swear I was blocked up right to my stomach. It literally took about 3 days of miralax and suppositories before it was all out.
Not fun.

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

Okay I admit I brought up the poop subject. I have been having a bowel movement everyday just feel like not all of it comes out:( I have resorted to taking miralax but still feel backed up. I eat prunes but do not see a difference. Prune Juice (can you say nasty?) works like magic but I cannot get it down without gagging. So I truly am trying not to go the Dulcolax way but I will take them occasionally if my situation does not improve.
So this question probably sounds a little backwards, but I go pretty much the same every day around the same time every day. Does this mean there's something wrong with me or that I'm doing something wrong because I don't get backed up or have trouble?
Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising every time we fall.
Speaking of poop I have noticed that once week or maybe every two weeks but mostly once week I have big poop! other then that it's smaller and I have hard time going sometimes so I think I might take something to help me. Also another tmi from having hard time going at times I now have hemroid shees! I'm so glad we can share everything together!
Lisa,
I eat Activia light yogurt... and I have started adding 1/4 - 1/2 C. of Bob's Red Barn Muesli (available in the organic section) to it every day. That's helping a bit, definitely. I've also started taking 2 generic colace tablets daily. Between those two, I've managed to go a week without having to take dulcolax (yay! a new record!) and have been "going" more regularly.
I also find that fresh apples (with the skin) seem to help "cleanse" and move things along - almost like a laxative.
I've tried prunes (and thought of them as dried plums) but can't get past the consistency of them. I've never liked raisin-y types of things but prunes just put me over the edge...
