I LOVE my droid!  I got the Motorola Droid (the one with the flip out keyboard).  I've found I don't use the keyboard all that much because the touch-screen keyboard works really well, but I'm still glad I went for this one.  Apparently the Eris (the other droid) doesn't yet have the GPS Navigation (they say "not until the upgrade comes through") because my girls got them and can't do the whole navigation thingie.

The ONLY down-side I've found so far is battery life, but you can manage it well.  I get a full day out of it, more if I turn off bluetooth and wi-fi when I'm not using them.  I have a little docking station for it that I use when I'm at work, and that mounts it like a drive so I can drag and drop files (like photos and such) on and off it.  That doubles as a charger and makes it look like a cute little clock, so it's pretty much always charged.  When I'm away from work for more than a day, I just plug it in at night on my nightstand.

I strongly suggest you get the screen protectors for it, though - with the touch-screen there's so much schmutz it collects from your makeup and your fingers.

Morning all - fighting a raging headache this morning that just doesn't want to give up and go away. Took some Tylenol when I got up but the only thing they've done is upset my pouch. I think the stress of mom being in the hospital and the daily trips there, then updating everyone is finally catching up to me.

Today she is have a 'bronchioscopy' (Pam?) - tube down her nose to look at her lungs? They think now that her left lung has collapsed because they don't hear fluid or anything else for that matter. I don't know what they do for collapsed lungs, and since this is her compromised lung (with the tumor) I'm not sure there is anything they can do. Her pulminary dr is supposed to call me after the procedure and let me know what they found. When I went to see her yesterday I had to ask the nurse to get her a breathing treatment - we were talking about my dad (his birthday was yesterday but he died almost 30 years ago), then the procedure today and I could tell she was getting anxious and short of breath. The treatment helped and I waited til they got her back in bed and comfortable for a nap before leaving.

I'm at work today - keeps me sane. Looks to be a busy day so that's a good thing. Maybe it'll help this stinking headache go away...

Oh, on a good note I had a nice WOW moment Saturday - when I got to the hospital one of mom's church friends was there visiting and she hadn't seen me since before my surgery - she didn't know me! She said she would have walked right past me because I look so different - she was very happy for me.

You explained the bronch very well.

Collapsed lung...well...it depends.  Sometimes they put in a chest tube (which is exactly what that sounds like...the poke a tube that looks like a clear hose through some spaces in the ribs into the lung)  This helps to drain fluid etc from it.  They give you numbing medication and sometimes even sedate you when it's not an emergency (IE:  trauma patients or something like that when they don't have time to do any anesthesia.)

Do they do chest tubes with lung ca?  I have no idea.  And would it help?  No clue.  Not to mention, even though they give you numbing medication etc during the procedure...it's still uncomfortable afterwards.

Prayers to all of you.

Good morning Pam and all of PA - Pam - I loved your fb status this morning.  DUH...why don't people let the experts do what they need to do and LISTEN! :)  Crazy people!

Anyway - at work today until 3:15, tutoring this afternoon, Financial Planner appointment at 6, Molly to Dance at 8.  No pool for me today - going to try to make it on Wednesday.

I am having REAL hair issues.  I think it is time to get it chopped.  I had tried to blow it out for the affair I went to on Saturday night and it just looked all stringy and thin,  Looks like I have to give in to the hair loss thing.  Larry was adorable - he said, well, with such a little face, you don't need all that hair around it! :)

Nothing else too exciting here - trying to ignore the call of the scale.  so far so good.  However, it was strong this morning! :)

Have a relatively calm Monday all!

Good Morning Everyone!

I am lounging on my new recliner and enjoying zero pain and a nice hot coffee. the weekend was pretty rough and I definately did way too much yesterday, despite my family yelling at me to stop. But feeling well today.

I can almost stand completely upright, and I am draining less and less so hopefully those damn things will be pulled out soon.

Today is Riley's 3rd Birthday, so since we had her party yesterday and I can't do much, we will probably just have a movie day where I let her watch whatever she wants, and we will play "restaurant". she loves to make play food in her kitchen, take my food order, and and such.

Hope everyone has a great day.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

Morning, Friends!

Pam - glad your night was good, and that you're in a better frame of mind.  Great idea to go to the gym and avoid rush hour!

Steffi - you had an affair on Saturday???  Does Larry know? haha.

I'm at work today, then class tonight, so it's my "long" day here.  I actually woke up on time this morning without the alarm clock going off - very weird!  So I got to the gym and did a pretty good workout - split between stairs, treadmill, weights, and stretching, so nicely "rounded."

We're starting kitchen demolition this week, with the goal of the installer starting early next week.  I've gotten everything ordered except the lighting fixture for the island and seating, and stuff is supposed to be coming in the first week in March (next week)... so very exciting!  But the level of chaos is truly frightening... I can't imagine what living without a kitchen for a month is going to be like.  Yikes!

Hey all, I'm always late to the game here.  I've had an easy day of it.  I did run out to the bank and Boscov's for a bit, but now I'm relaxing in my recliner, watching curling, checking the computer sites I look at.   I'm in really good shape for being out only 3 weeks from my Plastics, but it sure feels good to just sit here with my feet up.
