Hi all -

Well, after a long day, I'm home from the hospital.  I spent the day in CCU with my boyfriend (who had a mild heart attack @ only 43 years old if you didn't see my original post).

He was still in quite a bit of pain after a rough night.  As the day went on, his pain lessened and he was resting pretty comfortably.  He slept off and on and I sat in the corner and read most of the day, helped him  readjust in bed, cut his food up, etc.

The nurses were really great.  They kidded us that he had the ward record...youngest in residence and the most number of drips (4).

We're told that he will be moved early tomorrow morning to Phx. Hosp to have the cath and stent procedure done.  I'll head down there once I know he's on the move.

As for his Mom...he had me call her late this afternoon.  Of course, she immediately came down and was very upset.  She didn't stay long, as he was getting really tired from not getting much sleep last night.  She was sort of crying and I told her that we had to be strong for him.  That's what is working for me.  I don't want to stress him out by being a crying mess.  Hopefully she will follow suit tomorrow.  She wants to be there for the procedure.  I really do understand where she is coming from - she's his Mom for one and both of her parents died from heart disease/attacks.

I want to thank each and every one of you for the wonderful support you have given.  I truly love my OH-PA family.

Lisa

I'm glad your beau's pain is lessening! Glad, too, that his mom knows. This may not be much comfort, but be thankful his heart issues were discovered now and that they can be treated. Holler if we can help. We'll keep you guys in our prayers. (What's your boyfriend's name?)

Lisa,

Glad to hear Brad is doing better.  And even though he's young for this and may have a long road ahead of him, it is FAR better to have caught it now and can "open things up" (which is what the cath and the stent will do)

Let us know if you need anything!
