Moving to Erie.........HELP! LOL
Ok, so I haven't been on here in a bit. Just haven't found the time, and I know I need to get back into the accountability aspect of OH. Now my family is moving to Erie in a little over 3 weeks, and I know absolutely NOTHING about the area! Our job is moving us, but I am actually heading there in a few hours for a week to work.
If there is ANYONE that is in the Erie area, and would like to get together for supper sometime while I am in town, please let me know. I will be working at Presque Isle Racetrack and Casino, so feel free to message me on here, so I can make plans!
I really do need to get back into a support group. While I have been living in Eastern OH, there isn't a local support group for me to attend. I miss the discussions, and the support! I really NEED the support! Thanks!

I spent some time in Erie but it was a long time ago - early 80s. Visited the area a few times through the 90s, though. Presque Isle is beautiful. Advice: bring SERIOUS boots and be prepared to wear them through the snow and the muds that follow as it melts! Also, check out the Cambridge Springs area and the Riverside Inn for a wonderful change of pace. Good luck!

Thanks for the replies. It looks like we will be living downtown.....around 10th street. On the west side of town. I am supposed to check out a house on Tuesday.
I will definatly have to check out all the places around here. My daughters are excited about moving here. I can't wait to get moved up here either.

LOL...... Well i've lived in Erie County for almost 28 years.... my whole life!!! I'd consider myself quite the expert! LOL
If you need to know anything at all...... let me know!! I'm not sure what kind of town your used to but I know tell you about what there is to do here... where to go etc. If your looking to do any follow up with a WLS doctor... i'd suggest either traveling back to your previous sugeron (if you liked them) or traveling to Pittsburgh. I've had nothing but a bad experience with the docs in Erie.

Traveling back to my dr is out of the question. He is in Louisville, KY. and I don't want to drive 10 hours!
Now the hard part is finding rental property. I have had calls to all the local realtors, and several are trying to find something for us. It is just really hard, since we have animals.
