ONE YEAR LABS--- WHAT?!?! long, sorry
I go to the surgeon on Thursday for my one year follow up exam.. where the heck did the time go. So, I got my lab results and they look really good. Just a few things I have questions about..
my Vitamin D 1,25 dihydroxy is 87 which is showing as high in the 18-72 range.. should I be concerned about TOO much vit D? or am I not absorbing it anyway? It was 35 at 6 months
MCH is showing 33.2 slightly higher than the 27-33.0 range. What is this?
b12 at 6 months was showing 364 and you were all concerned about this.. NOW it is 1639 waaaay higher than the 200-1100 it shows.. UM? Cutting back to 2500 mcg sublingual should even that out, but I know we only absorb so much of that right?
B6 wasn't tested yet because the chick sent in the wrong type of specimen to test it and I have to go back when I can fast (probably Thursday) to redo it.
My other numbers all look good. I copied my 6 month numbers from my post then and am adding my year numbers next to them below..

YAY I'm happy for you Lisa Not sure you are not alone my b vitimas my folicacid is way too high. Well Looks like if you have an apt in the AM on Thursday I will be seeing you their since I to have to see him for my monthly apt I know he will not be happy with me I think I gained or didn't lose enought for him we shall see. Keep up the good work
Vit D is OK, from what I have heard "range" for us is up to 100.
Cut the B12 back some from what you are taking - this should help you sleep if you have been feeling jittery. Better yet send some to me? lol mine is always low. What B12 do you take, maybe I should try it.
can't believe it's been a year already!
Liz

thanks for your input Liz.. I know, right.. a year?!
I will cut back to one B-12 a day and see what happens. I'll give you the extra energy Liz.. you're going to need it, especially now as you are entering into your LAST TRIMESTER!!!!!
I have been taking Nature's Bounty sublingual b-12 2500 mcg.. but I was taking 2 of them.

People who are anemic have low H&H
Hemoglobin - has to do with red blood cells and carrying oxygen
Hematocrit - is a percentage type thing regarding red blood cells and "solution" or "plasma
IE: If you have a normal red blood cell/hemoglobin/hematocrit count and then you dump liters of saline into a person, their hematocrit drops because now there is less hemoglobin based on amount of solution
Hence why severely anemic patients complain of fatigue (their muscles are tired because they are not getting oxygen) and shortness of breath....cause their body doesn't have oxygen on the cells like it should
You only eat red meat once a week? Well, I guess with the iron supplement that makes sense. My iron binding capacity and iron was low I believe at my 3 or 6 mos appointment and Dr. P told me to eat "lean red meat" 2-3 times a week, and lo and behold, it has brought my numbers up

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.
