Not gonna rain on my parade!
Ok, so I am just ranting a little here, so go ahead and close if you don't feel like reading it!
I get a call, as I am walking out the door for class. My surgeons nurse calls. He was perfectly fine with doing my H&P the morning of surgery. I had a few labs done yesterday and that's all he needed.
However, the Anesthesiologist called the office and wants a Physical, EKG, and Chest X-ray before friday. Really? It's wednesday dude! She said that if I can't get those things, they will not put me under and my surgery will have to be cancelled and re-scheduled.
Bite me......John's Hopkins Anesthesia. I've got friends,.... and connections. My friend is the office manager at my PCP's so after begging for mercy, she squeezed me in this afternoon for the physical, my OB faxed the chest x-ray he had me do in december and his did it as I was on the phone so he wouldn't forget. My bestie is a nurse so she had me stop in her office, I sneaked in a room and she did an EKG quick, and the Nephrologist I work part time for pulled up all my labs and faxed them down.
Whew, I have been wanting this for 5 years, I wasn't going to let it be cancelled. I am so thankful for all the great people in my life that pulled some "medical" strings for me to get all my info for me.
So far, so good. The surgery is ON! Friday at noon, I will be under the knife and getting fat sucked out! Woo Hoo!
