So sorry that things did not work out for you to get to your uncle's funeral. Please take care of yourself. Did you get a definite diagnosis of gestational asthma (if that even is a real thing?) Once again there are some things that we can control and others that we can't. Some days I say the Serenity Prayer about 25 times almost as a mantra. You are in my thoughts and prayers - do take care of yourself and the baby.

Good morning Trish and everyone - another nice snowday here for this educator! :) Kids are all still asleep - hubby is at work - the ambulance picked him up last night to get to work and we are still not surehowheis getting home - he may just crash at the statin for the day and I can try to get a car to him later - or tomorrow morning if the buses are running, he could get home that way. He brought everything he needed to stay at work for a few days anyway - so all in all - kind of what we expected.
I actually had a nice day with the kids yesterday afternoon, we were all out playing, Josh was shoveling, the girls and I were building snowmen and then we came in and started playing Monopoly. It was fun, there were a lot of laughs and the kids got along relatively well. We are still in the middle of it so we will be possibly finishing it up today. I realized that the whole time I was playing, I was NOT thinking about noshing. We did all get hungry and had dinner, but that was it - I was sooo amazed, I have been noshing for a few days now and realized that playing the game with my kids really helped! I had a realtively good food day yesterday! :)
Today will depend on what Larry says the streets are like. I am sure we will try to dig out, get the cars cleaned off and the driveway shoveled, however, not sure about getting to a OBGYN appointment that I have later this afternoon. I don't mind rescheduling, however, I need a new prescription for my "happy" pills, and REALLY need to talk to the doctor about how to go about getting the new prescription. I am on 30 MG and the pills come in 10, 20 and 40 mg. So right now I am taking three 10 mg pills and am going to have my last three tonight.....and we all remember how pleasant I was last week when I was off my meds for three days.....so - at the least, I will have to get that taken care of until I see her.
I never did balance the checkbook like I needed to yesterday - nor did I do any grading or planning - so with any luck, Iwill sit my butt down and do some of those things today!
Does anyone else have a tree outside their house that looks like a picture from a Dr. Seuss book? You know, with the drooping branches and sad looking, snow covered leaves? I have few - I will have to take pics and post them of facebook.

Glad that you are enjoying these days off. Something tells me that we are not going into school tomorrow either. Needless to say I will be very unhappy in the nice weather when we are stuck in school until the end of June. Oh well you can't fight Mother Nature. Today is a better day for me. I am tackling my bedroom (major disaster area). Anyhow I can't wait until spring gets here. TAke care.

Pam, so glad to hear your dad is in the hospital and getting the care he needs.

The office is closed again today. So no working from home for me, I'm not a normal telecommuter so even though I have hookup from home now, I do not have to work...YEAH
Woke up to a huge mess in the kitchen this morning. The entire ceiling is dripping water from the snow on the roof. Bummer. Have to find an insurance adjustor and get in touch with the insurance company to get a claim in or whatever it is you do.. That is Gene's department so he'll start working on that today.
The neighbors pine trees have lost a lot of branches from the snow and the wind. It is sad to see all those big branches scatters all over our back yard and their back yard. Those trees have to be more than 100 years old and now they are just breaking into pieces.
Our Magnolia tree in the front of the house lost 2 huge branches during the night. And the first tree that Gene ever planted is just laying over on the ground so we are going to go out and try to brush the snow off our Ornamental Plum tree gently to see if we can save it or if that is lost.
I have homework to get done for tonight, even though the university is closed, my prof has put our class on line so that we can submit and discuss questions with each other. Good thing I'm enjoying this class.

OK, its official - I am an IDIOT - I got up late but hubby and I drove into work and guess what? Nobody else showed up! So I send an e-mail out to my co-workers and my boss replies 'Kathy - go home' - I just wish she had called our voice mail and said 'Kathy - don't come in!!' - so I will head back over to pick hubby up and we will head on home...the roads go from totally sucking to okay depending on where you're traveling and on what type of highway - side roads are horrible - 202 is okay once you get on the bypass but once you hop off be very careful.

afternoon all I had to work yesterday and got in little accident as well I'm okay my dads trucks has damages to it. I will exp later when I get home from work tonight! I'm working 3-11 I have off tomorow I'm going to have little suprise for NANA for her birthday tomorrow night sicne I have to work on her b-day which is Sunday I have to do little shopping for her tomorrow hwile she is working!
