Wintry Wednesday Roll Call

Good Morning Jo Jo & PA:

I'm home from work, got the email that we are shut down today.  So all the work I have to do can wait till tomorrow in case I can't get in then.

Not much planned today.  Gene did my wash so I don't have any of that to do, I finally took down the Christmas decorations over the weekend and put them away, I can't cook any more till we finish what I made over the weekend.

So maybe I'll see what help Gene needs getting his Doctoral Thesis and other papers leading up to it  re-typed.  Two days ago he lost all his work that he had done for the last three years of his doctoral program.  He took the thumb drive to the Geek Squad last night and they could not recover anything from it.  He didn't save it to the hard drive of the computer because the computer crashes so much.  Lesson learned thumb drives can crash so don't rely on them either.  He's not a happy camper so whatever he needs and when he lets me know I'll be here to pitch in.

Those that are out on the roads be safe....

Yep! It's snowing! Mike didn't even go in yet - they cancelled production in both plants for today so he is out assessing the driveway.

We had an icky night - the dog was sick and barfy for about 2 hours. Sorry...TMI...but there is NO point in replacing our upstairs carpeting with a pet in the house, I swear.

Those bickering kids are the result of the low pressure systems, I truly believe. (It's like a full moon, only moreso IMO).

Working from home today, and a few "domestic tranquility" chores as well.

Morning Jo and Pa!

Good luck to Johnny's neice.  We were under potential for being mandated to stay after our shift...but that luckily didn't happen because our day shift nurses got their butts in there!  I'll be thinking of her!

It took me about an hour to get home - normally it's about 1/2 an hour, so not to bad.  The roads were definately crappy - but also doable.  I had my altima which obviously does not have four wheel drive...and I was still ok.

Our street/development has not been plowed, salted or any other snow removal done to it so that was probably the more of the yucky part of my drive - the whole tenth mile or so, lol

Let's see....today....first I'm going to bed and sleeping!  Had an interesting night last night and then it was almost a ghost town (the way it should be) so it dragged and I'm exhausted.  It also doesn't help that the past two days I've gotten a total of about 7 hours of sleep - keep waking up for various reasons and can't seem to stay asleep.

After the nap...probably a combination of shoveling, Wii, Guitar Hero and figuring out dinner.

Good Morning all - I'm tucked in safe at home and hoping that the dealership closes so Chris doesn't have to go in.

I have been dealing with some emotional issues the last few days and hoping that a day of rest in my fuzzy jammies today will help with that. I also need to get my clothes out and ironed for the funeral in the morning.

Be safe all

Hi all. They closed my company today which never happens which is good. That way I dont have to feel guilty for staying home.  I had planned to stay home anyway. I do not risk my life for my job that is my motto. no one will die if iam not there, so neither will I. Can get another job not another me.

This snow really is awful it is wet and heavy we have both been out already trying to keep ahead of it.  Needless to say we are both in bad moods now. LOL I am going to do some chores and work on a project today. Losing money left and right due to this snow but that cant be helped.

Maybe  I will work on my WLS tool kit today

Good Morning Jo,
I was up late last night, and I overslept, of course.  I am going to get dressed and clean off my car to brace for phase two of the snow.  It is sleeting right now, and I want to get it cleaned off for now.  It will get blitzed again, but I need to get one layer off first.

I had doctor's appointments today, which I am not keeping.  I have some movies to watch and cleaning up to do with the unpacking still.

Hugs,
Trish

Morning, All - stay safe and warm!

I'm stressed to the max - this weekend is my "BIG" show for the year - the Buyer's Market of American Craft at the Philly convention center - a 5-day wholesale show that's pretty much make-or-break in a lot of ways.  Our booth setup was scheduled for 1 pm today.  Obviously that's not happening, so I have the booth in my car, sitting in my driveway, stressing me out.  They've granted us "absolution" from mandated load in times and opened the loading docks early tomorrow (7:30).  But the show OPENS tomorrow afternoon.  So I'll be heading down there extremely early to try and be one of the first in line for load-in (need to be in line by about 6:30 i'm afraid).  That's always assuming that the roads are passable at 5 AM when I have to leave the house.   I'm honestly afraid that everyone of the exhibitors is going to have the same idea and that it's going to be beyond a zoo...  Anyone want to help???  Haha!

That also means I have to wear my "construction" clothes to build the booth, then change into my "dressy, artsy" clothes, re-do hair and makeup in the convention center bathroom so that I look nice and presentable before the show opens.

The whole thing is just shaping up to be a major fiasco.

Oh.... and last night we developed a pinhole leak in the main feeder line of water in from the well to the neutralizer - at a place that I know is going to be expensive to replace and where we can't really do it ourselves.  I luckily managed to patch it with gasket rubber and hose clamps so it's not spraying all over the basement like it was, but yet another OUCH and stress!

So today I'm making chili in the crockpot, doing some final "tweaking" of display stuff, getting in firewood (eddie forgot to bring it in yesterday before the snow started) "just in case", and heading out shortly to do the first pass on the cleaning of the car and driveway.

Steffi, you may be loving it, but I'm sure not right about now!

Karen, please be careful even tomorrow. The winds are yet to come I guess, although our "doggie path" on the deck has already blown over with 2 foot drifts.  And somehow I don't think you'll be the only one changing in the bathroom. Remember - keep it simple! You'll look gorgeous!

Do you have a site with pics of your work? I know you've posted occasonal pics, but I'd love to see more!

Well, it's after noon, so I missed the morning check-in.  I am (supposedly) working from home today, but so far that has involved doing a lot of writing between 7:00 and 9:00, and then snoozing on the couch until around 11:30.  But I am totally working!

It's sleeting here now and I guess there's more snow on the way, so I won't be going anywhere today.  Yesterday, I got all the bandages off my foot and now I have to wear sneakers for two weeks, and of course still use common sense and be careful with it.  I was so happy to get the bandages off -- I was able to take a post-gym shower last night without having to wear the "cast condom" and I swear, it was the best shower ever!

I hope everyone has a good day. If you're in the snow belt and you have to go out, please be careful!
