Congrats! That's a big step forward, both on the cooking and on the eating with the family.
You'll get used to the sensations in time - you aren't really feeling hunger yet, as those nerves haven't had time to re-grow. You MAY be feeling abdominal or intestinal gas, or just head hunger... the key here is to eat to live, not live to eat. Or, as I called it - learning not to be slave to my belly.
You're doing great!

YAY! So glad that you got to eat a healthy meal with your family. Oh and the only part they compalined about was having to eat a veggie?? That means the healthy alternative to chicken fingers wasn't an issue eh?
Good luck with the roast tomorrow! Chris has requested chicken fingers so I am going to have to come up with something creative!

It's hard in the beginning - but what got me through is that I basically told myself I had eaten enough in the past 26 years and that I had the rest of my life to eat enjoyable food (although a healthy version of it) again so a few weeks wouldn't kill me. Of course...some moments I THOUGHT it would kill me...but I am still here.
Although not super "enjoyable" try crunching on some ice....it gets in a scant amount of fluids and it gives you the chewing factor

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

It is hard in the beginning to see so little amount of food and really get that it is enough. You will get there. also congrats on cooking. One thing I have learned is that we HAVE to become responsible for our food and OWN it so to speak. when we eat prepared, processed and drive through food, it becomes a passive activity and we dont engage in it,.
We have to learn that our food is important and that we have to own the process. plan it, pick it out, prepare it and then eat it. It makes us engage with the food
Good for you
