Snowy Saturday Roll Call
good snowy morning.. thoughts are with Pam today. I wish the weather had cooperated so I could have gone to the service.
Liz, sorry about your uncle. Thoughts are with you today, as well.
So far today, I have not done anything but lay around, watch tv, and pull out the laptop. Sounds productive to me. But, I will actually try to do some cleaning today. I told Siehara that I want her to vacuum at some point today. So, I guess that means that I will have to do some kind of cleaning, as well.
Other than that, I will go out at some point and see what my car looks like. I need to be able to get out tomorrow morning to make the hoagies for our fundraiser. I was able to buy everything except the baggies for the condiments and the brown bags to put them in last night. Tomorrow morning, I'll have to get the bags before we go over to the synagogue.
Looks like we got about 6" of snow here. I know you people to the south got much more. Stay home and play in the snow today. Please try not to go out in it!

Well now! I guess we have about 6-8 inches...not to terrible....
However my parents house got walloped (sp?) and the funeral home cancelled my grandmothers service. WEIRD. It is rescheduled for Sunday (tomorrow) from 2p-4p.
That meant I spent a good amount of time on the phone with work. They had already given me funeral days Fri/Sat night. I was supposed to be back in work at 7p tomorrow night. I actually had to page one of the managers at home and have him call me here. I told him my predicament....he honestly had NO idea what to say. Crazy me even offered to come in TONIGHT to make up one of the funeral days and use it tomorrow (which would have sucked because of A) the weather and B) that would mean going to the memorial service on absolutely no sleep....blech) But, he pulled some strings for me...I still have off tonight...and he is giving me four hours of "emergency PTO" tomorrow night, so I don't have to be in till 11pm. That will give me plenty of time to get home from jersey tomorrow etc.
Anyway - on the agenda today now is....well....nothing. Shoveling and all that fun stuff and vegging out I guess. We have leftovers in the fridge from this week, so it appears I don't even have to cook. Hmmmm.
Enjoy!

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

Pam,
It's good that they rescheduled it, even though it threw a monkey wrench at your work and I'm sure other plans. It would be horrible for someone to be injured trying to get there or walking in, or whatever. So in a way, this should take some pressure off. Glad your work was able to be accommodating.
Hugs to you. Wish I could be there for you.

Good Morning everyone!
Pam & Liz you are in my prayers today. We too are snowed in. I just made breakfast for my husband & 11 year old son. They are now getting bundled up to do the driveway & sidewalk. This afternoon Caleb & I are going to the PSU Men's Basketball game. I sure hope they can win this one. Then we come home to make dinner- Caleb says he wants to do it all and just have me supervise. For some reason he wants to learn how to cook. Then the usual laundry & cleaning. The Mom job never ends you know.

Like everyone else, I am just enjoying the snow day today. We have about 18" in the driveway but it has drifted...and is still falling.
I am still in jammies, but am going to get dressed and then cook a nice dinner. Mike is out shoveling. The dog is going crazy - can't figure out what happened to the lawn since yesterday.

Hi folks,
Just now sitting down to the computer for a few minutes. Slept in a little today - it was a rough and emotional night last night - another fight with Eddie, still issues to resolve. Sigh.
He tried to make it to work this morning but thankfully turned back - just too dangerous. We're still clearing out. I think we've got about 18 - 20" at last measure. Becky's home - her work closed for the day. Her boyfriend just arrived, so all's right with the world.
I've got a *******ization of the "orange soda chicken" recipe in the crock pot - couldn't find any diet orange soda without aspartame, so got mandarin seltzer, orange juice, and splenda and tried to find a proportion that approximated the taste of orange soda. We'll see. Could be a disaster, could be a new invention. Hard to say, but we'll be eating it tonight for dinner. I'll post the results.
Made the carbquik cinnamon rolls this morning, too - they were delicious! Perfect for a snowy day!
Now to spend the rest of the day in the studio, frantically working on stuff for the show this week.
I hope you all have a wonderful, safe, and fun day!
