Snowy Saturday Roll Call

Sorry to hear about your uncle Butch, Liz.  My thoughts and prayers to your family during this time.

My grandmother's funeral/memorial service was cancelled.  I didn't know things like that COULD be cancelled!  It is rescheduled for tomorrow from 2-4.  Which of course threw a monkey wrench into work...they had given me funeral days for Fri/Sat.....I'll go into that whole detail in my own roll call post :)
Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

Thanks everyone. I am most upset for his wife and my Grandmother (his brother) My Aunt Jeanette doesn't drive, never has. I don't know if she'll stay in their house or not, I don't think that she can manage it. Financially she is set but her world revolved around him. My Grandmother has buried all 3 of her brothers in the last 12 years and this one hit her pretty hard. They seem to be "fast tracking" arrangements so looks like the funeral is tuesday. I don't know all the details yet though.

I am fine, I am glad that he is out of pain. Now of course, come tuesday when I see my Mom, Grandmother and Aunt Jeanette the preggo hormones are going to kick in and I am going to cry from association! (darn hormones! lol)

Thanks again all

Liz,

So sorry to hear about your Uncle Butch - and yes, it will be hardest on your Aunt.  I never understood why women of "that age" allowed themselves to be so darned dependent on their men - not driving, not maintaining finances for themselves, etc - I know so many who are now "lost" without them.  It's so sad.

And the hormonally induced crying will just prepare you for after birth when every kid's cry will make your boobs tingle and your milk flow, and then when every kid yells "mom!" and you turn around.  It's kinda like how the perpetual hunt for a bathroom now shows you where all the bathrooms are (and lets you know which are the "good" ones) so that when your kids are potty training you already know and can tell exactly how long it will take to reach the next good one.  ;-)

Thanks Karen!

I don't get it either! I don't know how anyone survives without driving anymore!  She is in her early 70's.

LOL that paragraph sounds so accurate! And actually brought tears to my eyes (see hormonal! lol)

Hi Liz,

I'm so sorry about the passing of your uncle.  That's really freaky what happened to him.  My condolences also go out to Pam regarding the passing of her grandmom.  My sincere sympathy to both of you.

Today, I am just vegging out and not doing too much of anything.  I did 2 hours of cardio yesterday at the gym, so today I feel wiped!  Tomorrow, we have to load two extremely large ottomens that we purchased from Penney's online, and return them to the store.  It's ashame because I really like them, but they overpower the room.  Oh well!  I guess the search is on for a replacement.

My daughter and her family live in Maryland and they got clobbered with snow.  I've spent a lot of time on the phone with her this afternoon.  My son-in-law is a meteorologist and is loving the 28 inches of snow that they got so far.  I personally hate it, and hope that doesn't here.

Have a good rest of the weekend, everybody!  Stay warm!

Liz, so sorry to hear about your Uncle (and Pam's grandmother).

Today will have me basking away in 68 degree sunny weather recooperating in Monterrey while my PA peeps dig out.  So sorry I'm not there with a shovel --- NOT.

Wow!  Sounds like your recovery is pretty tough!!!  lol  Glad to hear you're doing well!   Paul and I have talked about me having plastics in Mexico sometime (sooo not at that point yet!), so I'll be checking with you to see if you're happy with results and all.

Got your response about my avi yesterday.  Thank you!!!!

Morning, all!

Pam---You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers today as you say good-bye to your grandmother.

I'm sitting here in my jammies.  Just finished my Click and am thinking about getting on the treadmill.  We probably won't try to shovel for a while.  (Paul isn't sure the snow blower can handle this amount of snow, so we may have to just use the shovels.)  I have absolutely nothing planned for today, other than read my book, eat some of the chili Paul made last night (it's pretty yummy---and he made enough for an army!), and maybe take a nap.

Stay safe, everyone!!!
