Well it's that time of year. February 8th McDonald's begins with the Shamrock  shakes.

I got coupons in the mail yesterday and they were advertising it. My heart started racing, my eyes got big and I am pretty sure I even drooled a little. I frantically went to my recipe book. I swear I wrote in in there last year when you guys posted it, but it's gone.....lost.....no where to be found!

Typically, I nag and force Johnny to go get me one, then torture him physically and emotionally while I lay in the fetal position wanting to die. (I blame him, of course!)

For the sake of our relationship, and my sanity.............

Could one of you please post the "Faux" Shamrock Shake Recipe?

I will be eternally grateful!

Ok, temporarily grateful......cause honestly, eternity IS a long assed time!

Thanks in Advance!

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

Hopefully they post - I don't know the measurements but it is
soy milk
vanilla pudding mix
mint extract
ice
and green food coloring (if desired)

Yea...I don't know the measurements either....but that sounds right.  I specifically remember the soy milk, otherwise the pudding turns, to well, pudding, LOL

Darn... I am allergic to soy milk.

You could probably use almond or rice milk too

That's the long and short of it, Liz.

I think we usually fill the blender 3/4 way with the soy milk, then add one box of pudding, and and fill with ice and flavor and color to taste. Just remember that a little extract goes a long way. And if it's not sweet enough for you, throw a little Splenda in there with it.

Beth, you can make it with skim milk, you just have to have people there to drink it quickly before it turns into pudding!

this is what I copied into my recipe file when it was posted last year direct from Norm

Put this in your blender:

1 package sugar-free instant vanilla pudding mix
5 cups ff and/or sf soy milk
2-5 packet of Splenda (start with 2, and sweeten up to taste)
1 teaspoon peppermint flavored extract (taste and add more if need be)
Green food coloring (optional, but seriously, who's NOT going to make it green?)

2. Add in ice cubes to fill the blender (more ice = thicker shake, less ice = thinner shake)

3. ACTIVATE THE BLENDER!

4. Drink, while heartily toasting my good name

6. Enjoy pooping green

PROTIP: If you want to make one of those minty-chocolate Shrek shakes like they had at Hardee's for a while, use chocolate pudding instead, and maybe throw in a little SF choc syrup for kick.
