They seem to have a lot of good recipes and are pretty much WLS friendly

Agreed, some of the recipes are good ones for us.
I'm not sure who develops the recipes for this site. However, I'd be cautious about paying for a membership.
The background is interesting. Pre WLS I did various twists on low carb diets and found a forum called Low Carb Friends. There was a huge controversy there about Kimkins. Turns out the woman who claimed to be "Kimmers", the founder of the Kimkins diet, was a total fraud. She claimed to have lost a large amount of weight in 11 months; turns out, her "after" photos were faked from sites of Russian girls advertising to become wives. People would pay to register for her site and be prescribed a very risky diet plan. If they questioned her, they were locked out, but still billed. If they hit a stall, she would suggest milk of magnesia. Here are some links.

I couldn't agree more. The recipes at Kimkins are great. Easy to prepare from inexpensive ingredients you can find at your local grocer. You don't have to be Wolfgang Puck!! I shared my Kimkins recipes with my LapBand surgeon, and he said from what I showed him, Kimkins was an excellent choice for a pre/post WLS diet. I followed the hype surrounding Kimkins for a bit. I noticed it was the same handful of troublemakers blaming everyone else but themselves for their weight problems. I could care less who or what runs the company/website. It works, and works well for me. The best part is not having to each bland, overpriced, prepackaged meals for the rest of your life. Yuck....
