Saw my PCP today

My labs are great.  Doc said my vitamin D is perfect he said he has never had a patient test perfect for that.  The B-12 is good as is my Iron.  He said since I tend to be enemic we have to really watch that.

My kidneys are good.  

The liver enzymes are still high, he said he is not worried about that as I continue to loose weight that will keep coming down.

My A1C is 5.8, he said I can stop checking my sugar everyday and go to every 2-4 days.

He's happy with my weight loss, officially in his office I've lost 50 pounds in 4 1/2 months.

He asked me if I had the choice to go back pre-surgery, would I do it again.  I told him I sure would.  I can walk for miles again, go to the gym, and I'm not out of breath anymore.  My body no longer hurts constantly.  He asked if I would consider talking to his patients that are good candidates for the surgery but are deathly afraid to have it.  I told him I'd talk to anyone that wanted to talk to me :-)

GREAT news! Your long journey pre-op certainly has paid off!

It sure has.  Between God, my doctors, and my OH and Barix family I'm on my way to great health!!!!!!

What awesome news Ida!!! You are truly an inspiration.  The journey you took just to get here is inspiring in itself.  I agree about talking to people.  I will talk to anybody and everybody about my journey if they will listen!!

Thank you Lisa.  It's interesting at work.  People are starting to tell me that I look good, amazing, and some other positive adjetives.  I'm very comfortable telling them I had the surgery, when they ask why I didn't talk about it pre-surgery and I tell them my story they are shocked, many have said that I was not that heavy, what do they know.  A few have asked for my surgeon's number.
