Im sorry Nic!  I have watched a friend go through something similar with her son who was also bipolar.  I will keep them in my prayers.

Wow Nicole, I don't even know where to begin.  Prayers are yours and to your family as well during this horrific time

What a terribly tragic story, Nicole - I feel so bad for Christian and his family - this is a horrible disease and my bf's daughter was just diagnosed with it so I'm learning more about it every day. Will send many prayers to the family and you.

it is awful, they think my niece may have it as well. Girls with it tend to injure themselves, the boys seems to become aggressive. Chrissy says that he wanted to go to jail, he wanted them to arrest him. But he did not intend to hurt anyone

That goes along with what my friend said - that b/p people do things to get caught - they push the envelope until they're caught (or worse). Its a terrible disease and I'm so sorry he wasn't able to get help before a tragedy happened - seems to me the police could have handled it much differently, especially if he didn't have a gun - why not shoot him the leg or something to take him down if they felt threatened - why kill him? Just so very, very sad...

I honestly believe my 38 year old nephew may have it as well, but my sister refuses to hear the word 'psychiatrist' or 'mental health doctor' - when he's up, he's really up - but boy he can crash and burn in a heartbeat if something as simple as his cell phone malfunctions. Plus I think he has a definite alcohol addiction and possibly drug as well.

Seriously, are there any NON-dysfunctional families out there!? I used to laugh about myself and my family in daily e-mails to my bff about 'Dysfunction Junction' - the story of my life - guess I'm not as alone in all this as I thought.

I like that dysfunction junction.

I am not sure why the police took extreme measures, I guess he will have to answer for that
