It not like I found out by testing the waters on purpose. It was quite by accident. I love Starbucks! Not there coffee but for there tea. I usually get a grandee nonfat earl gray tea latte. Unknown to me they put vanilla syrup in thous lattes. I have had one almost every day for the past month, with no adverse reactions.( I am still losing weight becaus I been working out like fend) I found out they put the syrup by accident or I would have keep on ordering them as they were. I now will order it without the syrup, because I dont want the calories. So finding out about the syrup I now know that I dont dump! How sad.

This is dangerous knowledge to have.  Seriously.

Try believing this instead: you don't dump on Starbucks tea latte, but you most likely will dump on fast food, candy, etc (whatever your major nemeses!).

This could well be true anyhow, as I don't dump from a piece of chocolate (unfortunately), but a Burger King or Wendy's sandwich will feel like impending death in my gut.

I totally fine with the fast food becaus I detest it. I could not stomach it even if i tried. It is gross gross gross! All of it yuck!!! I was so diabetic before surgery I'm fine with sf treats when I indulge in them. Which I hardly do. I no longer crave them. I going to eat like I still dont know that I dum*****t. It was just such sad discovery.

Is it possible they've been using sugar free vanilla syrup in your tea because you're also asking for nonfat? I do know they have sf vanilla syrup because I used to get my iced coffees there before McDonalds started having the sf syrup. Next time you go in to order ask them - and if they haven't they can start using the sugar free and you won't notice the difference and won't have the extra calories.

And like Lisa said there are many things you can dump on - yesterday I dumped on Special K cereal - it was sugar content but honestly who would have thought? I ate it - was fine for about 1/2 hour, 45 minutes, then I felt it coming on - the sweats, the severe nauseau, then the dry heaves, more nauseau, sweats, shaking - and had to lay down and sleep it off for almost 3 hours - and I'm almost 2 years out - so sugar will always be an issue for me.

Check on the syrup and continue to watch what you eat - high fat or greasy foods also make me dump and I still have issues with doughy items - trust me I am not complaining - its helping to keep me on the right track!!

Nope! I always go to the same Starbucks so they know me. So when I found out I asked and they said that they were using the regular stuff. They know now when I order not to put the syrup in it. I guess I could dump on other things. I dont know? My Rny has been so easy for me. I have no problems so far and I really try to sick with the program and not go out side of what Barix has taught me. I wont try other things because I really dont want to find out.

Kathy the special K is that the one with 2 grams of sugar? You may have accidentally gotten the wrong one because there is one with 2g of sugar?

I think the Special K with protein is the one with less sugar - this was regular SK and I honestly just didn't think when eating it because its been almost 2 years since I even looked at the label and knew it was too much. It was in the kitchen, sounded good, so I ate it. WRONG!! But hey, live and learn (again)...cereal is definitely off my radar because milk has seemed to turn against me as well.

You may dump and they are not putting enough in over the sugar content to make you sick.... Plus that may not make you dump but other things may cause it. I did push the limits and eat M&M's and one day I got the sickest I ever was in my life it was enough. It took t few times but ouch!

Be careful. Not everything with sugar will make you dump, but many things still can. So that didn't.

TRUST me!

I can eat half a hershey chocolate bar......nothing.

If I even inhale crumbs of a brownie or chocolate cake......I wanna DIE!

Fruit makes me dump much quicker and faster than a piece of chocolate. I have learned in my many years out, to never trust anything. Even this far out, things I thought were safe will suddenly turn against me.

So it's not black and white.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
