***FRIGID FRIDAY ROLL CALL***

Oh my goodness - I'm starting the Friday roll call?? Is everybody home snuggled and warm under their covers?

I'm up and at work - hopefully a much quieter day than I've had all week. Tonight we're meeting our new neighbors and some old neighbors for dinner so that should be nice. Tomorrow my bff is driving up from Maryland for a day of retail therapy with me - woo-hoo!! Always in the mood for one of those! Hopefully the snow will stay far south and she can make it with no problem.

Other than that not much new on my agenda - hope everyone has a great (and warmer) day!

I'm at wor****il 4, stopping at Kohls, stopping at my Mom's to pick up my groceries - we did "shop from home" and she is picking them up for me so I don't have to go out tomorrow or tonight in the cold - LOVE MY MOMMY :) Then home to put away said groceries and relax!

No plans for the weekend other then working on the baby's room and relaxing.

Hi,

It has been a wild week.  Not only because of the artic weather but with some bad experiences.  I did get a phone call from Experience Works about another training opportunity.  This, of course, is just temporary until something full time comes along or I can go back to school.  It will be a challenge with one car!  We so need that second vehicle!  Anyway, today is a Dr's appointment for both of us and then trying to stay warm!

Oh! I was able to get an Irish band for Olga's Cafe in March!  I am so excited!  I will get my exercise this time!

Clueless about weight loss and weight loss surgery of any kind.

Good morning, all!

I'm going with Paul this morning for an MRI of his head.  They're trying to figure out what's causing his headaches.  Then, this afternoon, we have a meeting with his son's English teacher to discuss his writing skills.  He's a smart kid, but reading and writing don't come easy to him.  He's in 9th grade, so we need to make sure he gets the basics down and develops good study skills since college isn't too far off.

Stay warm, everyone, and have a great day!!!

Morning.. I've been up and working since 6.  I was running a malware removal thing on this PC because it's been running really slowly.  I also did drive cleanup on it.  Hopefully it will help.

Anyway, working until 3:30
going over to the gym at 4:30 to meet with the head trainer for weight and measurement.  They are doing a 45 day challenge starting Feb 1 and I have to get my PRE stuff done and get orientation for the program.  Too bad they didn't do this in April, I would have won for sure!!!! LOL

I will most likely stay and do the body pump class or something at the gym and then we will go to David and Sarah's for our normal Friday night dinner and whatever.

Stay warm out there.  According to my computer, it's 14 degrees out there.  So glad I don't have to go anywhere!!

Food shopping this morning.  The protein push I used to kick off this new phase of eating right is getting old, so it's time to get the other good stuff back in there - fast - I was tempted by whole wheat saltines yesterday, so I must be craving carbs!  It's good to know I can still do it, though, and that my pouch is still happy.  I feel more in control.

Unfortunately, I think I only los****er weight this week.  This is what really frustrated me before, since getting Lyme disease - eating just right and not losing weight.

I found the other day that I could walk about ten minutes before the pain started turning for the worse, so I turned around.  But 20 minutes is better than nothing.  I had to sit when I came home.  Wanted to lie down, but just tried to sit there and let the weirdness (gut pain, palpitations, brain fog, etc) pass.  An hour later, I was able to do some work with my handweights.  I have a similar goal for today.

Dinner out with friends tonight.  Can't recall if I have plans or not for the weekend!

Have a good one, all...

Lisa

No expert on Lyme disease but maybe walking in short increments would be better so you don't have the pain or tire so easily - I do know that it can be recurring so you don't want to run your system down so much that it gets out of control again. The weight will come off - sounds like you have a good plan going.

Thanks.  I just really miss my good health.  And feeling kind of resentful when I think about how hard I worked for it to begin with.  And I enjoyed it - it wasn't a chore, once I got to a weight at which it was more comfortable.  I love exercising.

I've read a protocol that recommends against aerobic exercise for people with Lyme.  But I've read first-hand accounts of people who've done it.  Basically, the Lyme bacteria don't like heat, so heating up the body via exercise can be good for killing some off.  However, as this type of bacteria, spirochetes, die, they release toxins into the blood, which can increase symptoms or bring on new symptoms - thus, the idea of limiting exercise to control this reaction.  It's a b---h.  Very frustrating.  You kind of have to accept that you may well have to feel much worse in order to get better.

But I guess that applies to a lot of things, so I will just have to tough it out.  I'm just also so afraid of the weight gain or not being able to lose.

This is an article that was in our local paper the other day. I found it interesting. Maybe you can check it out if you get a chance.
