Forced myself......
Hi all -
I have a confession - This afternoon I was trying to talk myself into not feeling well. I had a bit of a headache, but I was fine otherwise. My reasoning was due to not wanting to go to the gym after work. I really wanted to just go home and veg out on the couch.
Well, on my way home I decided that I should go to the gym. I have put myself on a schedule that involves me hitting the gym at least four times a week. I have plans for dinner tomorrow night, so I couldn't use the old "I'll go tomorrow" excuse without messing up my week.
When I got there, I started out slow on the treadmill and next thing I know, I am increasing my speed and jogging for short bursts. I picked songs on my Ipod that had a fast chorus and sort of cycled back and force. Then I decided to use the incline function, which was another push for me. After I did 30 minutes of that, I hopped on the elliptical and did that for about 20 minutes. Again cycling my speeds in short bursts. I was sweating like a little piggy.
I'm really proud of myself on a couple of levels. First, for not giving into the "old me" that made excuses and procrastinated constantly. Second, for pushing myself to perform better than I did the last time I went.
Anyhoo....I thought I would share this good news with my good friends
Hope everyone is having a great night.

Lisa,
First of all congratulations on committing yourself to get healthy. I also force myself to work out because I have this peristant fear that I will regain all my weight. I am almost 2 years out and my honeymoon period is over. I can eat more and I find myself grazing a lot more. I do however work out 5-6 days week. I really don't like getting up at 5:30 in the morning but I like getting my workout out of the way so that I can enjoy the rest of my day. You should be proud of yourself you are doing more early out then I did so hold your head up high and be proud of your accomplishments!

Good for you Lisa!! That's what you/we have to do every day... push ourselves to do what we know we need to do. I did NOT go to the gym tonight to do 5k training, but that's only because I went out at lunch time and did it!!
Keep up the good work. I'm sure you felt so much better after you left the gym.. even if you were a sweaty piggy!! LOL!

Karen - you are absolutely right - my energy level is really good. In fact, I was just posting this morning that I was going to try and stay up later tonight so that I wouldn't wake up at 4:30 tomorrow morning. So far, so good. I'm up, did some dishes and I'm listening to the Presidents speech.
