A Newfound YUMMY

My daughter Becky's boyfriend is a vegetarian, so I try to keep the pantry and freezer stocked with vegetarian-friendly treats.  We've been getting a bit "experimental" and trying some new things along the way. 

Just found Gardein Seven Grain Crispy Tenders and OMG, they're GOOOOOD!  They're kinda like chicken nuggets, but made with grains and soy (they are NOT gluten free).

Protein 9 g  (5g is soy protein)

So great taste, balanced carbs and proteins, really low fat, NO refined carbs, not high in sodium... what more can you ask!?

Found them in the vegetarian/organic freezer section at Wegmans.    A DEFINITE keeper!

FABULOUS!!!  I'm doing shopping within the next week, will definately try these!  (Do you think if I make them when Brian doesn't see the package he would taste the difference??  LOL  I'm betting with enough bar b que sauce he won't :)

With enough BBQ or hot wing sauce he won't... there's a little bit of a textural difference (more like, say, McDonald's chicken nuggets where the chicken is chopped with filler rather than where the chicken is in a single "real" piece), but it's not a bad texture at all.  There are 10 "nuggets" per package, just FYI...

I also fixed their "chicken scallopini" the other day and the kids really liked it - a bit of a firmer texture, made like chicken breasts and spiced like scallopini - topped it with a white wine lemon sauce.  Again, more of a textural difference than a taste difference.
