Hi Lisa and all of PA - Yup - Lisa - we were definitely switched at birth!  And thanks for the math comment last night on my facebook page about my spelling....very funny!

So - I am right there with Lisa and a crazy weekend:

Work today until 3:15, head home to spend some quality time with Larry - read: take a nap! :)  HAve dinner with the family and sit down with Larry to fix my sense of beig completely overwhelmed about everything that has to be done in our lives.  Then tonight I am going to have some me time and play Mah Jongg with friends.  Tomorrow morning has me taking Molly to her City Year event, then home to get Emily and head over to Liz's - I am definitely going to be able to make it as Larry has agreed to get up early and pick up Molly in the afternoon.  Then, I think I may stop in Doylestown on the way home and scrap with a VERY old friend that I just reconnected with on Facebook.  I just have to make sure her kids will be home to entertain Emily.  Sunday is Hebrew school and then a friend of mine just asked me if I wanted to meet her with my kids at an indoor play park which I am looking into.  OY!  Oh yea - and then there are the cookie things that I need totake care of.  People are calling and wanting to pick up cookies, and I have not been home to allow that to happen!

Oh- and the ratification meeting last night for the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers is, well...lets just say in this financial climate, it is reasonable.  I certainly can not say it is good, but there are two raises in there which is a surprise and they did NOT make our school day any longer.  Also, our benefits are still intact with no more out of pocket expense with the exception of $5.00 more per co-pay.  Definitely doable with everything that is going on in the world these days.  So at least that is done for three years.  The stress of it is just crazy!

I hope you all have an enjoyable Friday and a great weekend!

Steffi,

I was thinking about you while listening to the news reports on the contract ratification.  Sounds like you guys got a pretty good result, especially given the economy - congratulations!

Will be looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!

Yeah - bottom line - Things are pretty status quo - which again, in this economy is pretty good.  There are some schools that are so terrible, those faculty members might be screwed with some of the things Arlene Ackerman wants to do with them, but otherwise I am basically content. I still think I am going to put feelers out there in the suburbs, don't know if it will be any better, and I LOVE my commute - so we shall see what the spring holds for me!  And there is always the thought of making more money - but then I leave my kids in the Philadelphia School district, while I would be elsewhere - not sure if that is a big deal or not.  So much to think about!

Hello, Friends!

Lisa - sounds like a wonderful weekend - full of GOOD things to be busy with!

So i got the cabinets ordered and paid for (yikes) last night, and now the clock is ticking!  Exciting but scary - we have a lot of things to do to get ready and still some key decisions to make and things to buy/order to make this happen.

Got to the gym this morning - workout kinda sucked and I don't know why (time of year?) but have made my first personal training appointment for this sunday, so will hopefully get some good ideas to turn this around.  I've been having a hard time getting my workouts to "feel good" lately - not sure whether i'm in a rut, doing something wrong mechanically, losing my edge, or whatever.  Maybe I'm just doing that weird "avoidance" thing about the stair run in March, which frankly scares the sh*t out of me?  I dunno, but I don't like it.

Am at work today, then home for the evening.

I'm really looking forward to Liz's cooking class tomorrow and seeing many of you there!

Good Morning All,

I was up for a couple hours around 3 or 4, had to sit up, take pain med.  Eventually went back to bed and just got up again at 10.

Only plans for this weekend are seeing my folks today - Mom's in a nursing home and I like to get there weekly, but have not been able to for a few weeks now.  Dad goes and spends every day with her.  ...And my Lyme Disease Support Group on Sunday.  It would be nice if we could take a drive or something, spend some time together, if Steve's up for it.  I have to watch - he'll say he is, to cheer me up, even if he's clearly too tired, so we'll have to see.

I can't wait to feel better and not be so boring!

Lisa

Good afternoon friends...

I haven't been around too much lately, but always enjoy when I can take a few minutes to catch up with PA WLS friends.  My wife is out of town for a few days, so I am playing Mr. Mom to 3-year-old twins.  I got up, got ready for work and then got the kids up, fed and dressed.  Daddy does not know how to do hair, so I took the stuff along to pre-school and asked one of the teachers to fix the girls' hair.  I took 3 hours comp time this morning and am leaving an hour early to pick up the girls.  Tonight I might get them pizza and make some soup for myself, found a recipe on Eggface's page I'd like to try.

The rest of the weekend I am working middle shift.  My mom is watching the girls before my wife gets home tomorrow afternoon.  Hoping this weekend at work is restful since the past two days have been so chaotic.  I see that Liz's cooking class is this weekend and I swear that one of these days, I will come check it out.  I always seem to be working when you have it.

Hope everyone has a good weekend...

And to any single parents out there... you have my utmost respect.  I could not do what you do every day.
