WLS Freindly but very nice restaurant in PGH?

This is my first post on this board.  But I would appreciate some guidance. I'll be taking my wife out to celebrate our 34th anniversary soon. We'll be going to take in a show at the Benedum Center and go out to dinner. Since this is our anniversary, it's okay if the meal is on the pricey side.

I'll be about five months post RNY by then and of course don't eat bread or pasta.  But my wife likes Mediterranean food.  However, I can almost find something to eat anywhere.  (Except maybe Primanti Brothers)

The only place we have eaten in PGH has been the Haufbrau Haus. And we had fun. But I'm thinking something a bit more elegant for our anniversary.

Can any one suggest a real nice place?

Hi Hercules,

I am not sure how familiar you are with Pittsburgh and if you want to stay in town close to the Bennedum or are ok with venturing away from there.  Let me know, I have several suggestions in other areas, but could probably also come up with something in town.  I work downtown every day.

Thanks,

Danna

Hey Herc,

Don't know anything about where you are headed but wanted to wish you and your wife a wonderful anniversary.  Congrats to both of you!

I know nothing about PGH, as I prefer the opposite side of the state, but I know that even in my rural area, there are restaurant guides online. Maybe the city has a site that showcases restaurants and gives menus, etc. That would be my first suggestion.

Happy Anniversary!

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

The Grand Concourse in Station Square is very nice.  It is in an old Train Station.  There is the Six Penn Kitchen right in the theater district.  Their website is sixpenn.com
