wanting to know if any other newbies out there are feeling this and if any of the others felt this when they first had their surgery .
when I drink I don't feel any different - I have taken a big gulp on accident and it did not bother me ore hurt..
I can't yet tell if I am full- i dont ever feel hungry ?
is this all normal I feel today like I am going a lil crazy with was my surgery done right will it work for me? Is this just a common worry everyone has....

You probably didn't "feel" the big drink because the tissue and nerves in and around your stomach are still all messed up from surgery.
Not feeling hungry is awesome. Make the most of it, and only, only, ONLY eat when and what you are supposed to. HUNGER COMES BACK, and then it's harder to remain compliant.
Your other feelings are normal. Your surgery will work for you, as long as YOU work for you too.
Are you walking at all and trying to get and stay on your feet several times a day? Now's the time to do it!
Keep asking questions, and we'll help how we can.

Everything that you are feeling and not feeling is perfectly normal. Take a deep breath and relax. LOL Everyone goes through it to some extent right after surgery. And never be afraid to ask questions that is how you will learn and make the most of your tool. I am only ten months out and still asking all kinds of questions. The first few months are a major learning time. No matter how prepared for this you were it still is much different once you are actually experiencing it for yourself. Your stomach and nerves in that area were cut during the surgery so you won't feel much of anything right now. That is why it is so important to be concious of everything you put in and stick to what the doctors tell you to do. As that area heals you will start to feel it when you eat or drink too much or too fast. I haven't started to feel hungry yet, I am told that will happen at about one year out. Keep sipping, walking, and following the instructions you were given. Belinda
Thank you all for your post I feel much better...
I think I wonder it all today cause today is the first day I have really eaten and felt like i could eat and thought I was over eating then I looked at my rules of the tool and well I am still not getting in near what i need to be , but it felt like it cause I was getting more down *L..
I think I just don't want to mess this gift up I have been giving- my mother paid for this surgery for me before she died, and i want to make her proud...
so once again thank you all..
today I walked a lil farther than yesterday

Jenn,
Norm said it very well, but I'll recap - you're perfectly NORMAL!!! Don't worry!
I think we all felt at some point that we'd be the first ones who this didn't work for, but the tool does work as long as you work with it (which you're doing).
One of the gifts of the early months was the absence of hunger/full feelings, because the nerves between the gut and the brain are severed - I was free to eat based on a rational and non-emotional plan that said "now it's time to eat" and how much to measure and eat. That helped me reset my expectations of what a "normal" portion size was and how long it should take to eat it. So later when the hunger did come back as a sensation I was better able to proactively manage it, rather than it driving me.
Barix tells us to eat until we're "just barely satisfied" not until we're full. It take 20 minutes for the signal of fullness to reach the brain (in a normally operating digestive system), so if you stop when you're barely feeling satisfied, you're actually already full. In the past, the feeling most of us associated with "full" was actually way overstuffed.
You mention that today you walked a bit farther than yesterday - that's GREAT and should be your daily goal... that and walking a bit faster than yesterday each day. In those early days, I actually felt like I could feel myself sculpting my new body out of my old one during those walks - and it eventually started happening and I could SEE it ... what an exciting feeling!
