Thumping Tuesday Workout Thread

Good Morning!

Never posted in the Monday thread, but Mary and I went to the gym last night and did a good hour of cardio a piece. I have to say, I kind of like the evening gym trip. Mary didn't care for my post workout endorphin rush. And I'll be the first to admit that a overstimulated, hopped up "me" is a lot to ask anybody to deal with at 9:00 at night. However, I did crash hard and slept like a big baby last night.

I've taken care of my strength training for the day. Unfortunately, because of my increased work duties, lunch time gym trips are looking to be a thing of the past for me, so I'm ironing out my new schedule as we speak.

Nonetheless, I feel limber and great this morning!

What is everybody else up to?

Today will be the last day I can work out for a while, and I'm sad about that.  I'm having surgery on my foot tomorrow to remove bone spurs.  I'm sure it will be worth it in the long term, but in the short term, I'm going to miss the gym, miss the endorphin rush, and miss the calorie burn!

Today my exercise will be one hour of Body Pump, followed by one hour of Zumba, and then about two or so hours of running around like a crazy woman getting everything together for my recovery time.

Lesley....

Food for thought.

You're going to be immobile for a little while, but why not get a set of hand weights and take a little time to focus on an isolated upper body workout?

Just medium weight, with very slow, very measured deliberate movements. It's not Zumba, but it's something...

That's a very good idea!  I'm going to ask if I can borrow a set from the gym.  Then I can work on getting some Linda Hamilton arms.  I'm also telling myself that the crutches will be an upper-body workout as well.

Just in case you can't borrow from the gym. . .  you can use cans from the cuppard or at Marshalls/Ross'/TJMax pick up a set of weights for under $10.  :)  Or even resistance bands work. . .

morning Norm..

I am going to do a DVR'd workout tonight.. probably yoga to help me unwind at the end of the day.  I may go out for a walk at lunchtime, too, depending on the weather.

Morning Norm and Others!

Day off from cardio, body sculpting dvd at lunch time in the little workout room we made onsite, in other words, no good excuse to not do some form of workout . . .

Good Morning Norm!
I did my hour on the Elliptical and as of this morning my BMI shows me as being moderately overweight so again I will be watching what I put in my mouth. I am pushing myself to maximize my workouts.

People comment on my over 100 pound weight loss and attribute it to my WILLpower, but it is my WANTpower: I WANT to be thin and healthy more than anything else!

Good Morning Norm and everyone. I get off work at 1 today so I am heading to the gym then. I will do my C25K on the treadmill, push myself on the elliptical, and do some weight training.

Norm, when I get done with the treadmill running, my family says I am a crazy lady. I feel so refreshed and hyper, and they sayI am a little nutso........I think I am normal. ha ha

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
