I am in the pureed food stage and will be for 2 1/2 weeks I need ideas as to what i can eat.  I made deviled egg yolks today, but I need more ideas.

Can anyone lend a hand?

I had a lot of pureed chili with melted cheese, pureed refried no fat beans (Wegman's has a spicy version with chili peppers that I loved). I made basically pureed no noodle lasagna- with meat, sauce and ricotta that was great.  I also made a mexican dip type thing with ricotta cheese and taco seasoning and an egg blended, then layered with fat free black refried beans and then  the fat free spicy beans-- I pureed homemade salsa with it and it was by far my favorite meal.  I also did 98% fat free broccoli and cheddar soup, homemade bean soup and homemade beef stew without potatoes and pureed them.

I pulled out my Barix Bible to get ideas for you.  How about:

cottage cheese, mashed up
soups, blended
fruits and veggies pureed
oatmeal
chili (no beans) with salsa con queso, or just some pureed chili
cheesy beef (ground beef seasoned with taco seasoning, blended with 2 Tbsp salsa con queso)
tuna or chicken salad: 6oz can of tuna or chicken, 2 tbsp FF Miracle Whip, 1 tsp mustard, 1/2 tps onion powder, 1/4 tsp celery salt

The cheesy beef and chicken salad were my favorites when I was on pureeds.

I hope these ideas help!  I think you can puree just about any foods, as long as you watch the fats and sugar.

Keep in mind that you can puree pretty much ANYTHING!

Some things I loved at that stage:
- pureed meatballs with ricotta and SF spaghetti sauce (Don Pepino's is a great brand)
- pureed chicken and garlic sausage with plain greek yogurt
- pureed banana and frozen strawberries with a little milk (like a soft ice cream)
- fruit purees of pretty much any kind - jus****ch out that you're not getting too much sugar in them - may need to mix a little of the fruit into plain yogurt to keep the sugar low
- pureed hamburger with a little lowfat cheese (hint - use a tiny bit of beef broth to thin it out)
- italian wedding soup - puree the solids and mix them back into the soup (you can do this with any soup - jus****ch sugar, fat, and carb contents)

You'll find some other good ideas at Bariatric Eating - look at the "soups and purees" section and the protein shakes section - and you'll find other things in the vegetables and sides as well.

I also found that scrambled eggs and lightly poached eggs worked for me at this stage and were great with some fat free american cheese melted on top.
