2 months out
i am doing very well i think but i find that i am getting hungry between meals....i make sure to get my protein and to stay low on the calories....what kind of snack is there that is good for me but not bad in calories? i have lost almost 50 pounds and seem to be at a standstill for the past few weeks..any advice is appreciated...thankyou!
Vicki - My guess is that it is actually head hunger. Try and have some water or decaf beverage when you feel hungry between meals and see if it goes away. Also believe it or not hungry and thirsty can be easily confused.
Are you getting in your 3 meals and 3 snacks a day? Good snack ideas are low fat or fat free mozzarella cheese sticks, yogurt, pudding, jello, beef jerkey, little bits of meat (I use leftovers from dinner the night before)
GOod luck and I hope that this helps
Stalls - they suck, plain and simple - but as with any weight loss program they do happen, so be patient and your body is going to catch up. Having your first stall out at 2 months is pretty normal. Like Liz said, divide your meals up thru-out the day - I eat 3 small meals and 2 snacks - sometimes 3 - and your body does get used to it and adjusts. I never had a problem with protein shakes and still drink them especially on the weekends when I'm not as regimented with my food, but trust me, if you go on a set schedule your head and your body will get used to it and before you know it it will be routine.
You're doing great - 50 lbs in 2 months is awesome!! Don't be a slave to the scale - put it away for a while or you're going to drive yourself nuts. Feel the difference in your clothing, your body, your energy level - weigh yourself maybe once a week - for me I never weighed myself at home until 9 months out - I only got weighed at my follow-up appts. But that worked for me - you have to find what works for you.
Take care - congratulations on how far you've come already!!

You've gotten a lot of good advice thus far.
Make sure your meals and snacks are fairly frequent without verging on grazing. Every 3 hours there abouts. You might also want to add in some fiber rich products which will make you feel fuller longer. But be careful - because most of the fiber rich products such as whole grain breads and what not are also on the carb list.
Liz had some really good ideas on snacks, and also the fluid thing.

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.
